The safety policy of DUONG DONG SAI GON JOINT-STOCK COMPANY
is that no task is so important that an employee must violate a safety rule or put himself or herself at risk of injury or illness in order to get it done. In order to achieve this safety policy, DUONG DONG SAI GON JOINT-STOC COMPANY develops, implements, maintains and continually improves a Safety and Labour Management System in the Head Office and on board all ships in the Company’s fleet to achieve the following objectives: 1. Provide for safe practices in ship operation and a safe working environment. 2. Establish safeguards against all identified risks. 3. Continuously improve the health, safety and environment management skills of personnel ashore and aboard ship, including preparing for emergencies related to health, safety and environmental protection. 4. Continually improving the effectiveness of its safety and labour management system by regularly reviewing its policies, objectives and procedures and revising them as appropriate. The Company’s Safety and Labour Management System is established in accordance with the functional requirements defined in the International Safety Management Code, ISPS Code and MLC 2006 and at the same time: 1. Complying with mandatory rules and regulations. 2. Taking into account applicable codes, guidelines and standards recommended by the Organization, Administration, classification societies and maritime industry organizations. The Company’s Safety and Labour Management System is applied to general cargo vessels. I, on behalf of all Company staff, promise to implement, maintain, update and improve the Safety and Labour Management System, and provide the necessary resources to ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with Safety and Labour Management manual. This policy shall be implemented and maintained at all levels in the Company, both ashore and aboard.
