CIRCULAR
Sub.: Hands-on workshop on updating, validating, and certifying data on Data Lake for
PDs, ROs and GM (HQ) - scheduled from 3rd – 7th July 2023

Ref:
1. OM 15037/01/2021/IT dated 17-09-2021 and 14.12.2022 – Prescribing mandatory
Requirement for all PDs and GM (Tech)-HQ to keep all information updated in Data
Lake Portal and if due to any inconsistencies / incompleteness / wrong input etc., any
embarrassment is brought to NHAI or any privilege motion is brought against Ministry /
NHAI, the concerned user / officer will be help personally responsible.

2. OM 15037/01/2021/IT dated 06.07.2022 – Designating GM (HQ) and RO as Nodal

Information In-charge for authenticating and validating the information uploaded on Data Lake.

With reference to the above, it is once again reiterated importance of completeness and
correctness of data which is being uploaded and certified by the users on Data Lake as it is
being used for reporting and monitoring at various levels in the government. This data, if not
complete or updated may portray a fallacious picture / bring embarrassment for NHAI.

2. Secretary RT&H is also now conducting SoM wherein information from Data Lake
portal is directly taken by M/o RTH officers for agenda and discussions. In addition,
forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament is also scheduled in the 4th week of July 2023
therefore readiness of information in Data Lake for preparing replies to the PQs by the
concerned Divisions is absolutely necessary. Hence, it is once again requested that all officers
must take ownership of their data certified by them on Data Lake.

2.1 To facilitate above, IT-Div will be conducting hands-on workshops across different levels
of the organization from 3rd – 7th July 2023. The agenda of this workshop will be to explain
the key attributes and certifications which are required to be done on the portal by the
officers by 7th calendar day of each month. How to check current data and ways to update
and certify. How to see how many projects are certified and on what date, etc.

2.2 The data attributes which are currently being certified on Data Lake at the PD, RO and
GM (Tech)-HQ level is enclosed as Annexure-1 along with the frequency for update
required. The schedule for the various batches of workshop dedicated for PDs / ROs, and
GMs at Hq is also enclosed as Annexure-2. All officers are requested to bring their official
laptop during the workshop and also associate their Data Lake operators with them.

2.3 Lastly, as per instructions dated 11.05.2023 by the Chairman NHAI, all CGMs (Tech) and
GM (Tech) – HQ are requested to regularly conduct monthly review meetings with their
ROs and PIUs on Data Lake. Minutes of the meeting are also to be uploaded on Data Lake
itself.
