Instructions :

3. Section-1 contains 20 multiple choice question and each question has 4 choices (a), (b), (c) and (d); out of which
are one is correct.
4. Section-2 contains 10 Numerical value type questions. (DO ANY FIVE QUESTION) The answer to each question is
numerical value. Write your answer to nearest integer (up to 3 digits only). Example: If your answer is 8, 9.2, 0.5
than fill 8.000, 9.200 and 0.500 respectively.

21. A man can swim at 2 m/s in a swimming pool. He enters a 100 m wide river at one bank and swims
at right angles to the river flow velocity (w.r.t. water). If his drift on reaching the other bank is 40 m,
calculate the river flow velocity.
22. A bow man is riding on a horse moving with speed of
2 2 ms–1 along a straight road. He aims at his enemy
moving perpendicularly to the road at speed of 2 ms–1.
At the instant when he fires the arrow, the line joining
man and his enemy makes an angle of 45° with the road.
Find the angle with the road at which he should aim to hit
his enemy? Muzzle velocity of arrow is 5ms–1. (Given
that sin 37° = 3/5). Neglect effect of gravity.

30. Consider an elliptical shaped rail PQ in the vertical plane with OP = 3 m
and OQ = 4 m. A block of mass 1 kg pulled along the rail from P to Q with
a force of 18 N, which is always parallel to line PQ (see the figure given).
Assuming no frictionless losses the kinetic energy of the block when it
reaches Q is (n × 10) joules. The value of n is (take acceleration due to
