What is sentence

Sentence is a group of words that has at least one subjet and verb and
expresses a complete idea/thought. A sentence may have one or more clauses.
Based on the communicative function, sentence is divided into three kinds; they are:
(Kalimat adalah sekelompok kata yang memiliki setidaknya satu subjek dan kata
kerja dan mengungkapkan ide/pemikiran yang lengkap. Sebuah kalimat mungkin
memiliki satu atau lebih klausa. Berdasarkan fungsi komunikatifnya, kalimat terbagi
menjadi tiga macam)
1. Declarative; Declarative sentences are a type of sentence in language used
to state facts, information, opinions, or other statements. This sentence is
designed to inform or describe a thing without containing an order, question,
or request for action. Usually, declarative sentences end with a period (.),
which indicates that the sentence is a complete statement.

2. Interrogative; "Interrogative" is a grammatical term used to describe a type of

sentence or clause that is designed to ask questions. Interrogative sentences
are used when someone wants to seek information, clarification, or engage in
conversation by posing a query. In English and many other languages,
interrogative sentences often begin with question words (e.g., who, what,
where, when, why, how) or by inverting the subject and verb
There are two primary types of interrogative sentences:
- Yes/No Questions: These questions seek a simple "yes" or "no" response
and typically involve inverting the subject and the auxiliary verb.
- Wh-Questions (Wh-Interrogatives): These questions seek more detailed
information and usually start with question words (e.g., who, what, where,
when, why, how).
Interrogative sentences serve an essential function in communication by
allowing people to gather information, clarify doubts, or engage in meaningful
conversations. The structure and choice of question words may vary from
one language to another, but the purpose of seeking information remains the
same.
3. Imperative; in grammar, the imperative mood is a verb form used to give
commands, make requests, or offer invitations or suggestions. Imperative
sentences are used to tell someone to do something or to give direct
instructions. They often lack a subject (you) because it's understood that the
command is directed at the person being addressed.
