TECHNIQUE: The present study was obtained with a 15-6 MHz (multi-sensor-scanner) probe.
COMPARISON: we do not have an image of the relevant examination on previous dates in our system, so no
comparison could be made.
RESULTS:
The dimensions of the left lobe of the thyroid gland were measured as 15x13x46 mm and the average volume was
calculated as 4.5 cc.
The dimensions of the right lobe of the thyroid gland were measured as 15x16x53 mm and the average volume was
calculated as 6.5 cc.
The isthmus thickness was measured as 3 mm.
Thyroid gland dimensions were evaluated as natural. Both lobe parenchyma echoes are normal.
In the left lobe of the thyroid gland, there is a 3x2 mm millimetric hypoechoic nodular formation with smooth borders in
the middle part anterior.
A well-circumscribed iso-hypoechoic subcentimetric nodule with dimensions of approximately 5x3x8 mm was noted in
the anterior lower part of the right lobe of the thyroid gland. The case stated that there was a nodule in the thyroid
gland during follow-up. However, since previous reviews could not be reached, a joint evaluation could not be made.
TIRADS category 4 was evaluated. Comparative evaluation is recommended if a prior US examination is available,
otherwise a subsequent US check-up is recommended.
CONCLUSION-RECOMMENDATION:
A well-circumscribed iso-hypoechoic subcentimetric nodule with dimensions of approximately 5x3x8 mm was noted in
the anterior lower part of the right lobe of the thyroid gland. The case stated that there was a nodule in the thyroid
gland during follow-up. However, since previous reviews could not be reached, a joint evaluation could not be made.
TIRADS category 4 was evaluated. Comparative evaluation is recommended if a prior US examination is available,
otherwise a subsequent US checkup is recommended due to its small size.
