Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES:

Rhesty, can you please lead us a prayer? Our Father who art in Heaven….. Amen.
Good morning class. Before we start our class,
please pick up pieces of papers under your (Students will pick up pieces of papers)

chair first.
Thank you class. You may now take your seats.
As I call your name, please say present if you
are here.
Present sir!
Alab-ab?...
Present sir!
Alolon?...

Very good because everybody is present.

Yes sir!
Class, last time we had discussed about 3 way
switch, right?

B. MOTIVATION:
Now class, before we will go to our discussion, Yes sir!

let’s have a game first. Do you want to play game?

This game is called “Pictoword”. What you are going to
Yes sir!
do is to read or identify two – three pictures to form a
word. Understand?
Sir yes sir!
And if you guess the correct word, you will have a
prize from me. Is it clear? Are you ready to play game?
(teacher will show pictures)

Yes sir!
Did you enjoy the game class?
Congratulations to the winners and to those who
haven’t get prizes, better luck next time.
So class, based on our game, and based on your
answers, what do you think is our lesson for today?
Okay very good! But I need a specific answer. Who else It’s all about electricity sir!
wants to answer? It is all about Ohm’s Law sir!
Very good! You nailed it! It is all about Ohm’s Law.

At the end of the lesson the students are

But before I discuss further class, kindly read expected to;
altogether our lesson objectives for this day. Ready A. explain the Ohm’s Law
begin. B. solve the problem using the
correct formula of Ohm’s Law.
C. state the importance of
knowing the concepts of
Ohm’s law.

C. ACTIVITY
PRE-ACTIVITY
Now class, for better understanding of our topic, let’s
have an activity first. I will divide you into 2 groups. On (students will go to their group)
my right, will be group 1 and on my left side will be
group 2.

I had prepared here on this envelope the tasks for each

group that you are going to do. I will give it now to you.
Guidelines:
Now that you have your envelope class, please read the 1. Read and follow the instructions
guidelines carefully. stated on your activity envelope.
2. Each group will work attentively.
3. You will have an allotted time of 10
minutes to work on with your
activity.
4. Each group will choose a presentor
to present their output.

Please be guided also on the rubrics class because you

Rubrics:
will be graded base on the rubrics.
Participation – 5 points
Collaboration – 5 points
Timeliness – 5 points
Quality of work – 5 points
Sir yes sir!

So you may now start working your activity.

ACTIVITY
Title: “Component Connection Challenge”
Group 1 will discuss or explain the impact one
STUDENTS’ ANSWER MAY VARY
component on the other components in the circuit.
Guide questions for discussion:
a) What happens to the brightness of the light
bulb if the resistance is increased?
b) How does the current change if the voltage of
the source is doubled while keeping the
resistance constant?
c) If the resistance of the light bulb decreases,
what happens to the current flowing through
the circuit?

Title: “Interpreting Ohm’s Law Diagram”

Group 2 will interpret the diagram and will answer the
following guide questions.

Guide questions:
a) What components are represented in the
diagram?

b) Can you determine the relationship between

voltage, current, and resistance based on the
diagram? What is the relationship?

POST-ACTIVITY
Okay class. Now that you are done with your activity,
Okay sir!
this time I’m going to give scores based on the rubrics.
(teacher will evaluate the performance of each group
and give scores)

D. ANALYSIS
Now class, our lesson focus for today talks about the
relationship between power, voltage, current and
resistance and it is called the OHM’s LAW.
What is Ohm’s Law? Can you please read it John? Ohm’s law – is one of the fundamental laws
of electricity that defines the relationship
between power, voltage, current and
resistance.
I will show to you an illustration for further
understanding about Ohm’s Law.
(teacher will show the illustration)
Quantity Symbol Unit of Unit of
measurement abbreviation
current I Ampere A
(Amp)
voltage E or Volt V
V
resistance R Ohm Ω

Now class, we all know that Ohm’s Law is define as the

relationship between power, voltage, current and
resistance. Thus, the formula of Ohm’s Law is:
R = V/I
To further understand the formula of Ohm’s Law class,
we have what we called “Ohm’s Law Magic Triangle”.
Here’s the illustration.

In finding the Resistance, we will just base on this

“Ohm’s Law Magic Triangle”. Here’s the formula in
finding resistance:
R = V/I
To find current:
I = V/R

To find Voltage:
V=IxR Yes sir!

I will give you an example problem. Please listen

carefully okay?

1. A Motor with an operating resistance of 32 is

connected to a voltage source. The current in the
circuit is 2A. What is the voltage of the source?
Given: R= 32Ω, I= 2A
Required: V=?
Equation: V= IR
Solution: V= (2A)(32Ω) Yes sir please.
Answer: 64V

Got it? Or do you want some more examples?

Okay another example.

2. Find the current through a resistor of 24Ω. If the

voltage across the resistor is 6V.
Given: R= 24Ω, V= 6V
Required: I=?
Equation: I= V/R
Yes sir!
Solution: I= 24 Ω/6V
Answer: I=4A

Is it now clear to you?

Another example to clarify more.

3. A small light bulb is connected to 6V battery and
draws 2A of current. What is the resistance of the
bulb?
Given: V= 6V, I= 2A
Required: R=?
Equation= V/I Yes sir!
Solution: R= (6V)/(2A)
Answer: 3Ω
Perhaps it is already clear to you class?

E. ABSTRACTION
At this time, let’s have a game again. This game is
entitled Game ka na ba? Game na! Groupings will be
the same as we had grouped earlier.
Game na!
So here’s what we are going to do. I have here flash
cards that have questions. Each of the group will select
(students answer questions)
a contestant that will answer to the question. Whoever
answers fast and correctly will be the winner. So game
None sir!
na ba kayo?

(teacher will show the flash cards with questions)

appropriate components, and ensure the
safe and efficient operation of electrical
systems.

Very good! Very well said! That’s exactly correct!

At this time class, we will have a short quiz to assess

whether you learned something today or not.
Everyone get ¼ sheet of paper and answer the
questions flashed on the screen.
(teacher will flash the 1-5 item test)

Pass your papers to the front. Any questions or

clarifications to our topic for today class?
