LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC) SESSION
ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Session Title: Learning Action Cell (LAC) – Exploring Strategies for Effective
Learning

Duration: July 24 – August 25, 2023

Location: San Pablo National High School

I. Introduction

In the spirit of advancing the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and in


collaboration with the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP), the National
Learning Camp (NLC) has been initiated by the Department of Education to enhance
the learning capacity of learners and teachers in pedagogical teaching environments.

The Learning Action Cell (LAC) session at the National Learning Camp was a
dynamic and collaborative platform dedicated to exploring strategies for effective
learning. This report provides an overview of the accomplishments, insights, and
outcomes achieved during this impactful session.

II. Goals and Objectives

The LAC session aimed to accomplish the following objectives:

1. To equip Science teachers with a toolbox of effective learning strategies


that could be applied across various subjects and contexts.

2. To foster a collaborative learning environment where Science teachers


could share and learn from each other’s experiences and strategies.

3. To encourage Science teachers in critical thinking and reflective practices


that enhance the learning process.

III. Session Highlights

The LAC session featured a series of interactive and discussions designed to


achieve the session’s objectives:

1. Workshops on Study Techniques


 Interactive workshops covered various study techniques, including
notetaking, time management, and memory enhancement. Science
teachers learned how to tailor these techniques to their individual
learning styles.

2. Learning Strategies Exchange


 Science teachers shared our personal learning strategies and
experiences. This exchange of ideas allowed everyone to discover new
methods and approaches to learning.

3. Critical Thinking Exercises


 Critical thinking exercises challenged us Science teachers to think
analytically, fostering a mindset of inquiry and problem-solving.

4. Collaborative Learning
 Collaborative group activities allowed us Science teachers to explore
effective learning strategies in depth understanding of the lesson to be
delivered to learners and present our findings to the group to come up
with unified activities and pedagogy to be applied.

IV. Achievement and Outcomes

The LAC session resulted in several notable achievements and outcomes:

1. Diverse Learning Strategies: Science teachers gained exposure to a wide


array of learning strategies and techniques, enriching our personal
learning toolkits. Many ideas have been offered during the sharing of
strategies.

2. Enhanced Study Skills: Science teachers engage group sharing on study


techniques and time management empowered us Science teachers to
optimize our study habits and become more efficient facilitator of learning
to our learners.

3. Critical Thinkers: Science teachers honed our critical thinking skills,


enabling us to approach academic challenges with analytical depth and
creative problem-solving towards the lesson to be presented based on the
previous days experienced in teaching the lesson. We also think of the

much better activities that will suit to the lesson in the lesson plan which
will not divert away from the provided NLC competencies.

4. Collaborative Learning: The Science teachers shared peer feedback


sessions and group discussions to cultivate a sense of collaborative
learning, fostering a supportive learning environment among the teachers.
This will enhance the capability and confidence of teachers to share our
individual perspectives about the lesson to be presented.

5. Reflective Practitioners: The Science teachers’ emphasis on reflection that


encourage teachers to become more self-aware the learners who
continuously refine their strategies for their academic achievements.
Personal reflection engaged teachers to be think of the better approaches
to be used in delivering the lesson that could help for personal growth and
development.

V. Conclusion

The Learning Action Cell (LAC) session at the National Learning Camp
provided a platform for Science teachers to explore, collaborate, and refine our
strategies for delivering an effective learning to the learners who are willingly
attended the NLC. The outcomes of this session have been far-reaching implications
for us Science teachers on our academic journeys, equipping the learners with the
skills and insights needed to excel in their studies and become lifelong learners.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, mentors, and facilitators who


dedicated their expertise and enthusiasm to make our LAC session a resounding
success. The knowledge and strategies gained during these sessions will
undoubtedly empower us Science teachers to approach their education with
confidence, curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
