What materials do I need to set up Unit 5?
My goal is to make these math units as fun for the kids as possible,
while providing as minimal prep as possible for the teacher. The
math centers will take some prep, but it is your choice to print in
color or black and white. I did laminate my centers for durability.

A quick view of the materials you need:

Gallon Storage
Bags for storing
1” Binder Sheet Protectors centers

Sterilite Large Clip

Box with latches Colored Paper Dry Erase Markers

Pattern Blocks Spinners Playing Cards

Grade Level Standards for Unit 5:
Geometry
ŸRecognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given
number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles,
quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes. 2.G.A.1

Ÿ Partition a rectangle into rows and columns of same-size squares and count to
find the total number of them. 2.G.A.2

ŸPartition circles and rectangles into two, three, or four equal shares,
describe the shares using the words halves, thirds, half of, a third of, etc.,
and describe the whole as two halves, three thirds, four fourths.
Recognize that equal shares of identical wholes need not have the same
shape. 2.G.A.3
