OPERATIONS & WELDING MANAGER

Performs planning, organization and controls production in an organization to ensure that goods are
produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. Job Duties:

1. Plan a production schedule for the job


2. Communicate with clients and detect their needs and expectations
3. Implement and control the production schedule, taking into account environmental and H&S
aspects
4. Review and adjust the schedule where needed
5. Determine the human resources required
6. Determine the material resources required
7. Manage human and material resources to meet production targets
8. Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
9. Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations
10. Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to compliance obligations
11. Coordinate and supervise the workflow of welding applications and activities.
12. Monitor welding processes performed by welders, supervise the staff, being sometimes
responsible for training.
13. Ensure that the necessary welding equipment and consumables are ready for usage.
14. Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures
15. Monitor quality standards of products
16. Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives
17. Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
18. Determine and implement improvements to the production process
19. Prepare and maintain production reports
20. Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for
improvement
21. Implement environmental management system, apply best techniques for minimizing
environmental impact & eliminate environmental accidents
22. Organize, supervise and keep records of H&S committee meetings
23. Detect potential hazards, encourage participation & use consultation with workers to apply good
practices and minimize risks
24. Periodically inspect the facility to ensure suitability of machinery and tools
25. Periodically inspect PPEs and replace worn – out equipment
26. Supply workers with adequate PPEs
27. Provide training on QHSE management and take all necessary measures to enhance competence
28. Estimate production costs
29. Set production budgets
30. Manage production budgets
31. Implement cost control programs
32. Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including
procurement, quality and management
33. Facility/ Machine Shop Maintenance
34. Equipment calibration
35. Other Duties may be assigned
