STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Dear Visa Officer,

My name is XXX and I’m applying for a study permit having been accepted to a two-
year diploma program in Business – Sales and Marketing at Niagara College Canada,
Toronto School of Management Studies Campus starting on the 8 th of January 2024,
and ending on 15th August, 2025. (See attached Letter of Acceptance). This is my
second application and I have taken steps to address the concerns raised and to
provide additional information to support my reapplication and to demonstrate to you my
eligibility for a study permit.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCES:

As a young entrepreneur and a graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism with a

diploma in communication studies, I have gained practical experience in sales and
marketing through my work at XXX Diamond Enterprise, where I am currently the chief
executive officer (CEO) in the retail and wholesale sale of food commodities. Before
venturing into personal enterprising, I worked as national service personnel at Stanbic
Bank Ghana, where I gained experience managing customer inquiries and promoting
financial products and services as a customer service personnel. I worked as a field
supervisor and enumerator with the Ghana Statistical Service. I also worked as a sales
and marketing personnel at Hot FM (93.9), where I was responsible for maintaining
effective records and administration of daily activities, networking with clients, and
conducting market research opportunities.
WHY I CHOSE TO STUDY IN CANADA

Through my numerous research, I was very impressed by the high quality of education
in Canada, and the college and university diplomas that are recognized around the
world. The Canadian educational system encourages cross-disciplinary studies. Also,
Canada was the first country to link its schools and libraries to the Internet through its
Innovative SchoolNet Program. It is not surprising that their telecommunication, digital
media, engineering industries, etc are exceptionally strong. Again, Canada is highly
known for its vibrant culture, and social life as international students benefit from the
same rights and freedoms that protect all Canadians. I believe that studying in Canada
will give me the best chance to develop my skills and knowledge in sales and
marketing. Also, Canada is a very welcoming country and I will feel at home.

WHY I CHOSE TO STUDY AT NIAGARA COLLEGE

I chose Niagara College, Toronto, because of its state-of-the-art facility and industry-
based faculties which makes it stand out among the numerous colleges in Ontario.
Niagara College offers unique educational experiences and programs that are highly in
demand in the job market. I am confident that the courses offered in the program such
as the principle of marketing, sales, and marketing strategy at Niagara College will
equip me with the requisite skills and knowledge to enhance the prospect of my
business when I return to my home country after the completion of my studies.

WHY I CHOSE TO STUDY BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

I have chosen to pursue this program because the courses offered such as sales and
marketing strategy will equip me with the right skill set to enhance my professional
growth and ultimately improve the prospect of my business and also take a managerial
role in my cousin’s company when I finally return to my home.-country. With my
ambition of becoming a successful business mogul, and contributing significantly to the
economic development of my home country by creating jobs. I have a strong interest in
sales and marketing and I strongly believe that the courses offered in this program and
at Niagara College is the best place for me to develop the skillset I need.
HOME TIES WITH MY COUNTRY

I have a strong relationship with my family, and they are all based in my home country. I
am the only member of my family who is planning to study in Canada, and I am
committed to returning to my home country to be with my family after I
complete my studies. I have the full blessing of my husband and supportive close-knit
family who are well-established and all live permanently in Ghana. I am eager to return
home soon after my studies to reunite with my supportive close-knit family, my husband,
daughter, father, and siblings, farm, a plot of land, and positively impact the prospect of
my business back home with the knowledge I have acquired in Canada. (See attached
copy of my business certificate, farming certificate, land document, marriage certificate,
and birth certificate of my daughter). I have also included a police clearance certificate
to ascertain my record as a good citizen of my home country.

TRAVEL HISTORY

I had the privilege to travel to South Africa in 2018 for a business conference with my
schoolmates and students from other universities under the Ghana Union Professional
Students (GUPS). The conference was held at the University of South Africa, Pretoria. I
had the opportunity to network with business experts, lecturers, and students. We also
paid a courtesy visit to the formal Ghana High Commission of South Africa, H.E George
Ayisi Boateng at the embassy, who also invited us to his residence for a party. We also
visited some tourist sites like the Union buildings, church Square, Menlyn Park shopping
center, etc.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OBLIGATION

I am aware study permit is temporary and I am obligated to return to Ghana upon

completing my studies. If my visa is granted, I pledge to obey the guidelines governing
study permits and I can assure you that I will abide by all rules and regulations during
my stay in Canada. I would like to kindly appeal to your diplomacy and hope my
application will receive a favorable positive response. Thank you for your time and
consideration. I hope that you will grant me a study permit visa to pursue my academic
and career goals at Niagara College.
