1. Why did you choose Royal Roads University?

I am enthusiastic to study at Royal Roads University (RRU) because of its reputation, quality
of education and achievements. Royal Roads University is operating its program
successfully since 1995 with a great motto “Life Changing”. And RRU is also well
known for its finest education and environment in Canada. It is a university with several
campuses in Victoria and every year huge number of students are awarded with graduate
and post-graduate degrees from this university. According to the latest statistics, Royal
Roads University is one of the most popular destination for Canada graduate and
postgraduate students. The most important thing is, it has affiliations with AUCC, IAU,
CVU, CBIE. Which indicates that Royal Roads University is one of the best universities for
studying in the country. As it is a Canada’s reputed University and the degree is acceptable
all over the world including Bangladesh, So I am eager to complete my master degree
from Royal Roads University.

The growth of my interest to become a business professional has a little story. During
my bachelor program, in 2015 when I was a student of third year of my bachelor course,
I got a chance through my faculty to attend a competition “Service Bazar” for 3 days in
our campus, by getting the champions title I ended up that competition. During my
university life, I also tried to engage with different extra and co-curricular activities
besides my studies. With my teammates, I participated in different case and presentation-
based business competitions. We achieved success in some of the competitions like;
Business Plan Exhibition and presentation competition 2016. I was also the team
leader of different presentation including an international business presentation on
“Sadia and Perdigao Merger” (Brazilian frozen foods), “Huge” (Digital Agency), business
proposal presentation on university management system to “The Daily Star”. I was also a
member of AIUB Business Club. I tried my best to develop my skills through development
programs competition and represent my university. I am still very fond of different co-
curricular activities and hoping to involve with different Business Competitions
and personal or professional network build-up activities.

2. How have you gained the research, writing, critical thinking and numeracy/accounting
skills necessary for success in this program?
Royal Roads University is dedicated to excellence in the delivery of higher education and has
a well-earned reputation for providing exceptional education delivered by
dedicated professionals with practical and relevant industry experience. Their academics
are supported by well researched curriculum and teaching methodologies that maintain
high levels of satisfaction among students. Master of Global Management offers courses
like- International Business Strategy, International Marketing, International Business
Operations and Supply Chain Management, Applied Research and Business Analytics,
Managing Change in Global
 Context, Global Management Project, Corporate and International Finance,
International Accounting Tools for Financial Health etc. which is a good balanced
program for student like me who wishes to develop career in global business
sector.

In the era of globalization, one of the best sectors which has perfectly globalized is
“Digital Marketing”. In present days, marketing industry is already large and continues
to expand. There is a huge demand for business professionals not only developed
countries but also developing countries like ours. After completing my master’s degree,
it would be easy for me to obtain a dignified position in this arena in my country.

As I have completed my Bachelor (BBA) degree on “Marketing”, day by day the business
world is changing rapidly. The concepts and theories which were innovative ten years back
are now obsolete in some extent. To be successful in this changing business world, one
needs to have in depth knowledge in the field of global business and marketing.
Whatever my goal is, in depth knowledge of global business trends and sales pattern is a
must for any business startup or initiative. I dream to see me as an entrepreneur after
five years which certainly means I will require a higher study in the field of business.
I am a business graduate and I worked in multinational and local company so I have
some business knowledge in the global level. But if I want to become a recognized
business personnel, I need a higher study in Business and some working experience
in a bigger level. Only then I will be able to harness my true potentiality to become a
business professional. I have decided to take the offered opportunity.

3. Students at the master’s level learn from their instructors, from their readings, from
their experiences inside and outside the classroom, and from each other. What do you
hope to contribute to the educational experience of your fellow students while you
are in the program?
My professional career started with serving a multinational company called “SBT Co., Ltd” as
Overseas Sales Executive, SBT is a leading automobile trading company whose headquarter
is located in Yokohama, Japan. I was assigned for UK / African / Asian market. I
gained experiences in B2B & B2C sales, business development, digital marketing,
marketing content and proposal developing which made my desire stronger. After serving
SBT Japan Ltd. around one year I have joined another company called “Boomerang
Digital” as Senior Executive, Account Management. Boomerang Digital is one of the
leading Web & digital agencies in Bangladesh. Here, I take care of brand’s strategy
and promotional activities. My main responsibilities in Boomerang are to look after the
brand’s promotional activities, pitching new brands, cracking strategy and leading the
team. I’m pleased to mention that here I worked with so many projects like; British
Council Bangladesh, Motract Motorcycle, Italjet Moto,
 Purnava, Miniso Bangladesh, Tonic, Noir Clothing, UGO, Google Business Group (GBG) and so
on. So, I am an active person and after my graduation, I have worked in two companies
and currently looking for my higher studies. I have started my first job before getting
my bachelor certificate. I always dreamed myself to become a business professional and
contribute to the global economy.

4. In 5-10 years, how do you anticipate this program will add value to your career?
Bangladesh needs appropriately qualified business professionals, who not only be a business
specialist but also realize the socio-economic conditions of Bangladesh. In that sense, I
think, I should be the perfect one as I am holding BBA degree already and after
completing post- graduation, will be holding master’s degree on the other hand.
After completion of this program, I will return to my native soil and will seek to join a
relevant field, as I have already served two, will gather at least five years of experience
and finally will try to establish my own business for serving my country with all the
knowledge and experience I possess after the end of post -graduate program and so
on.

The reason behind choosing Canada for master’s program is its way of
appreciating international students who are meritorious and have deep desire to fly
beyond borders. The thing that inspires me most about Canada is its government’s
involvement. The Canadian Government gives opportunity to international students to
exploit their merit to explore the world. So, who does not want to grab this
opportunity?
