Pakistan is a developing country, due to digitalization and industrialization
there is huge growth in corporate sector. Development has changed dynamics
of corporate sector. There is still a lot of improvement room available and
industry has huge growth for business graduates and offer remarkable career
prospects for business and commerce graduates.
I have been witnessing huge potential and growth in Pakistan economy which
has sparked my mind to undertake my higher education in business studies.
In order to accomplish my dream I decided to study Bachelor of Business
during my higher studies so that I can equip myself with the necessary
knowledge and skills in the related field to build my understanding and initiate
my career with the help of an internationally accredited degree.
My name is Jaffar Hussain and I was born on 12th January 2003. My Family
background includes my mother, I have three brothers and a sister. After the
death of my father my brother is running our family business and my mother
is the head of family. She is responsible for overall income and assets of the
family. Quality education is my priority and so does to my family. My family
has sponsored my education throughout, and they will be sponsoring my
bachelor’s degree from Australia. My family has enough income, savings and
assets to support my tuition, travelling and all living expenses during my stay
in Australia. I belong to a well reputed family and my family always struggle for
better education for better career prospects. As well as my marital status is
concerned I am not married and single. I have intended to study in Australia
under Student Visa Subclass 500. I am single so I will be the only person
applying for visa and coming to Australia for my bachelor degree. None of my
family member will be accompanying me to Australia in this time. This is my
first visa application to Australia and I do not have any friends or family
member in Australia.
As far as my studies are concerned I have done Matriculation in 2018
obtaining 81% from AL-Asar Academy affiliated with Board of Intermediate
and Secondary Education Kohat. After that I have completed my Higher
Secondary School Certificate with a marks percentage of 61.6% from Edwards
College in 2020. As per my plans to study abroad I started my IELTS
preparation, appeared in IELTS examination on 6th of February 2021 and
scored an overall bands of 6.0. As I were done with IELTS, I searched for
institutions abroad and in my home country. It took time for me to decide
about my course, destination country and education provider. It took more
time for me to decide about my choices and asked my parents to arrange
finances for my studies abroad. As I lodged my admission application to
different education providers in Australia including RMIT University, Southern
Cross University, University of Wollongong and Swinburne University of
Technology. After proceeding with my applications, I received offer of admission
from RMIT University and finalized this for my higher education. Due to
closure of Australian borders I had to defer my course to February 2022 intake.
This difficult time affected everyone and especially students who completed
their high schools during COVID outbreak. I am genuine student by all means
and this is the standard time being taken to decide and proceed as per my
study plans and a little bit affected by COVID-19. I am not the only one
affected with this kind of gap. I have started my studies online in February
2022 intake at RMIT University, Australia.
I am enrolled in Foundation Studies: Business leading to Bachelor of Business
at RMIT University. I have chosen this foundation pathway because A pathway
program will equip me with fundamentals of business so that I can perform
better in my bachelor degree. RMIT University Foundation is well designed that
would lead me to overcome my deficiencies during my pathway and take on
difficult challenges in my bachelor degree. I have selected this course because
of my personal interests and future plans. To gain an employment in my field
of study i.e. business studies I want to pursue my bachelor degree in this field.
My bachelor degree course relates to my future plans. I did my higher
secondary school in sciences and my parents want me to be an enigneer and
my interest was towards corporate sector. It was mistaken ambition on behalf
of my parents and later my results in entrance exam proved it. It’s normal that
students choose their final career and higher education degrees after
completion of intermediate in Pakistan. Given the scope of business in
Pakistan mentioned in my initial words this course will lead me to a successful
career in this field. This course will definitely lead me to accomplish my career
goals.

I will choose business options and university electives as per discussion and
direction of my course advisor at RMIT University. After completion of the
degree I will be able to learn in detail and equip myself the knowledge and
skills required for a business graduate. Core units of the degree will enable me
to learn basics of business environment, decision making and perspectives on
business problems. I have selected major in marketing because of the scope of
the field and career prospects. I would be able to know about strategic
marketing and digital marketing that would be integral part of the degree to
learn about it because due to digitalization, IT has changed business and
marketing trends. One of the best part of the course is to study applied brand
management where I will be bale to learn practical skills and strategies on how
to manage a brand and its importance for an organization growth. Market
research unit will enable me to know about methods and strategies of research
for a better marketing strategy of an organization. Overall this degree will equip
me with a necessary knowledge and skills a graduate must have to secure a
career in well reputed organization. Being a graduate of this degree will be a
turning point in my career and offer me variety of careers within business and
commerce industry.
From an outstanding education system, it was very difficult for me to choose a
suitable institution for bachelor’s degree. I shortlisted Murdoch University,
University of Wollongong an RMIT. I heard a lot of good things on social media
forum and many industry professionals also refer to RMIT. RMIT is best
regarding creative education in Australia. For my personal satisfaction I also
researched and found RMIT is a five-star ranking university, as it falls in top
15 universities of Australia and having a QS rank of 206 (QS 2022). RMIT feels
like a place where I am being a Pakistani would be welcomed. I choose RMIT
over Murdoch University and Wollongong university after doing research on the
course I felt that the course structure of foundation studies leading to Bachelor
of Business major in marketing is more inclined to what I would like to learn.
Also, it has 150 clubs to facilitate the students. So, after careful consideration I
have selected RMIT it would be an amazing and fulfilling experience to study in
RMIT university.
Some of the other reasons to choose RMIT University are:
 Globally recognized and ranked 5th in Australia and 18th globally among
universities less than 50 years old.
 Ranked 74th globally in QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022.
RMIT ranks 1st in Australia, 18th in Asia Pacific and 43 rd globally on the
Graduate Employment Rate. These
 5-star university. Awarded an overall 5 QS Stars rating for excellence in
higher education.
 RMIT offer more than 350 different courses in a whole range of different
subject areas.
 RMIT is smack-bang in the middle of Melbourne CBD, which means it’s
extremely easy to access.
Keeping all facts in mind, massive disciplines and academic structure,
wonderful history, and international ranking of RMIT University, I have decided
to study here, and I believe that RMIT global interactions will play vital role in
my grooming. Moreover, I have been awarded A $5400 bursayr towards my
foundation studies and 20% Future leaders Scholarship towards my bachelor
degree at RMIT University. Considering the raking, excellence of research,
course structure and location of the university I have made the best possible
decision to prioritize RMIT over other mentioned institutes for my higher
education.
I had a detailed research on courses being provided by institutes in my home
country. During my search, I found Lahore School of Economics, COMSATS,
University of Malakand and University of Central Punjab. I compared my
choice of Bachelor of Business of RMIT to that of courses being offered in my
home country. I have found a clear drawback of courses being offered in my
home country that are not updated as per demand of industry. Moreover, being
a developing country we lack in quality research which results in incompetent
faculty, outdated course structures and lack of innovation in education sector.
According to QS Ranking Pakistan has the world’s weakest higher education
system. Our education system is unable to introduce reforms and make higher
education system capable enough to produce job ready graduates. I have not
chosen any one of above mentioned institutes of my home country due to their
low rankings on international ranking tables. Despite charging high fees still
unable to match international standards and this is because of the lack of
research I have mentioned earlier.
Moreover, due to limited number of seats in a country of high population
everyone cannot get admission in top institutions here. If we look into today’s
educational systems developed countries have left conventional and orthodox
learning rather they have developed a strong linkage between industry and
academia for practical learning that is diminished in my home country. In a
recent survey; 78% of employers are not satisfied with the performance of fresh
graduates in Pakistan. I preferred not to study in home country and preferred
to invest in my education for a brighter career that is possible to gain a globally
accredited higher education hat would lead me to my dreamed careers. One of
the main aspect is employers prefer foreign graduates due to their competency
and qualification with higher designations and remunerations as compared to
local graduates. So I have chosen to study abroad rather than my home
country.
After making my mind to do my bachelor degree from abroad I considered
different options including Australia, Canada, USA and Germany etc. I found
University of Waterloo offering Bachelor of Business at a very high cost and
there are very tough admission entry requirements as well. On the other hand,
in terms of living Canada has a severe weather and it would be difficult for an
inhabitant like me to settle in that sort of climatic conditions. USA is the top
destination no doubt but considering the fee structures and attitude of recent
government towards Muslims, I have dropped option of USA for my bachelor
degree although I looked for courses at Adelphie University as well. I have
searched that Germany offers most of the courses in German, there are also
courses in English but language hindrance will lie there always. After
comparing all the factors, I have prioritized Australia to study my bachelor
degree. In comparison to the above countries, Australia has overall a balanced
destination in terms of quality of education, living standards and affordability.
There are certain reasons that instigated me to choose Australia, as it is the
third most popular destination for international students as many students
from around the globe are heading towards Australia for their higher education
and it makes a very interactive learning environment that builds interpersonal
relations.
Australian education system across the country ensures quality of education.
Institutions offer industry focused course structure as per the requirements of
the industry that is the reasons graduates are job ready. Universities are at
forefront of research, which depicts the level of faculty teaching at the
institutes. Universities use modern teaching and learning technologies for
interactive learning. Overall, the excellence of Australian education system can
be judged by the fact that it has 6 out of top 100 institutes of world. In terms of
living Australia offers international standard living environment to all students.
Seven of the best student cities in the world are in Australia. Its climate
matches that of my home country and it would be easy for me to settle and
study in a peaceful environment. Considering all the factors and reasons
above, I have made an overall better decision to do my bachelor degree from
Australia.

As I complete my bachelor’s degree in desired field I will come back to Pakistan.
Due to current reforms, government has won the trust of local and foreign
investors. Recently China Pakistan Economic Corridor has also produced
record opportunities in recent time. In future Saudi Arabia and Qatar are going
to invest 30 billion dollars in Pakistan which will create ample opportunities
across various sectors including corporate as well.
Government has also started Naya Pakistan Housing connecting large number
of industries that will create massive job opportunities for business graduates
as well. Moreover, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has launched “Naya
Pakistan Calling” a resource which can contribute to the making of NAYA
PAKISTAN, they shall then be involved in strategic decision making by placing
them as members of such Boards, Authorities, Commissions, etc. Prominent
professionals from Pakistani Diaspora are encouraged to join in the making of
NAYA PAKISTAN. Being business information systems profession I will be able
to take part in government sector as well. Now Pakistan is on the verge of
economic betterment and achieving new milestones under new leadership
which shows strong economic ties to wards my home country. Due to
digitalization, corporate requires potential graduates for growth of their
businesses and in this regard employer prefer foreign graduates at competent
positions with higher salary packages. Pakistan is on the approach of economic
development, Pakistan’s E-Commerce market will cross $9 Billion by 2025
which depicts bright future career prospects in Pakistan being a foreign
business graduate. Overall Pakistan has a great scope in this field and being a
foreign graduate I will be able to have a place in top organizations of my home
country. I will be highly in demand and preferred due to my foreign
qualification instead of local graduates.
After completion of the course I will be able to work on following positions;

With a bachelor degree in business studies, I will be able to start my career as
business development executive with a starting salary of PKR 90000 to PKR
110000. I would be able to implement my knowledge and skills and contribute
in my organization. Due to my competency with my foreign qualification I will
be able to progress to Marketing Manager or Business Analyst with a salary
growth to PKR 150000 to PKR 250000. After working for few years I would be
able to earn a more demanding position of marketing strategist or brand
manager with remuneration growth to PKR 300000 to PKR 400000. My career
ambitions will only be possible with a qualification from a highly ranked
university like RMIT University, Australia as foreign graduates are in demand
and being offered these kind of positions and fast career progressions as
compared to local graduates. My family’s investment on my education will pay
me back in shape of my successful desired career. I have been targeting

in order to begin production of hybrid vehicles.
Above mentioned details of ongoing projects and initiatives truly depict the
scope for business graduates. Being a foreign qualified, my bachelor degree will
differentiate me from local graduates and enable me to standout among them
in job market. I will have ample opportunities ahead after completion of my
bachelor degree.

My bachelor degree from Australia will expose me to be a job ready graduate. I
will be able to avail these career opportunities and will have an edge in terms of
hiring, salary and career progression.
Accommodation Arrangements:
As my living arrangements are concerned, I have looked various
accommodation websites and found a 4 X Twin Apartment. It will cost me
around A$169 per week and only 0.29 miles to my campus with all basic
facilities.
Visa Conditions:
As per student visa subclass 500 I will observe and obey all visa conditions
associated with my visa; I will have to inform my education provider once I
arrive in Australia within seven days, I will have to maintain adequate health
arrangements, I will have to maintain attendance at university, I am not
allowed to work more than 40 hours per fortnight, I will not indulge in any
illegal activity and harm Australian community, I must have to remain enrolled
in a registered course, I must not change my course without approval of
department and I must continue to satisfy the requirements for grant of my
student visa. Above all, I will abide by all the rules and regulations according to
Australian law.
Immigration History:
As per my immigration history is concerned, I have no previous visa refusal or
cancellation in any country. None of my family member ever had a visa refusal
or cancellation in any country.
Family and Economic Ties:
My only purpose is to complete my bachelor degree and get back to Pakistan
for a successful career here. My whole family is settled in Pakistan will all its
assets. Moreover, I have a brighter career ahead in my home country, which
shows strong family and economic ties towards my home country. I have no
incentive to remain in Australia and only committed to complete my bachelor
degree and get back to my home country to start my career and my career is
my foremost priority.
