-okay that is right! It is extemporaneous -“the importance of extemporaneous delivery it

speech. And that will be our lesson for today gives the speech freshness, for it doesn’t sound
Extemporaneous speech. So what do you think canned and over-rehearsed.”
is the importance of extemporaneous speech?

-Yes very good! Extemporaneous speech is for

spontaneous and sound natural which keeps the
audience engaged and interested in our topic.
We’re able to express our ideas spontaneously
with our audience or whoever we are talking -“an extemporaneous speech is a planned and
to. So what do you think is the definition of the prepared speech.”
extemporaneous speech?

-okay that is right; an extemporaneous speech

is planned and prepared speech. So there are
seven steps in preparing for a successful
extemporaneous speech. Please read the seven (students will do as told)
steps.

1. Identify the purpose of your speech

2. Analyse your audience
3. Condense your message to basics
4. Strike the right tone
5. Pull them with your intro
6. Perfect flow
7. End strong

-“okay those are the seven steps in preparing (students do as told)

for a successful extemporaneous speech. Aside
from that there are also speech transitions that
you can use to introduce your topics. Please
read.”
o We will be looking at/ identifying/
investigating the effects of…
o Today I will be discussing…

smooth so you need a transitional word to

move from your introductions to the specific (students do as told)
point. Can you identify them?”
o Now that you’re aware of the overview,
let’s begin with…
o First, let’s begin with…
o I will first cover…
o My first point covers…
o To get started, let’s look at…

-“so those are some speech transitions from

shifting from your introduction to your body,
now there are also speech transitions that you (students do as told)
can use to shift between similar points. Can
you read please?”
o In the same way…
o Likewise…
o Equally…
o This is similar to…
o Similarly…
-“So those are some speech transitions that you
can use to shift between similar points. So now
let us discuss the speech transitions shifting
between disagreeing points. So may I ask
someone to please identify?” o Conversely…
o Despite this…
o However…
o On the contrary…
o Now let’s consider…
o Even so…
o Nonetheless…

-“thank you! So these are the speech transitions

that you can use to shift between disagreeing
points. There are speech transitions which you
can use in your conclusion (to conclude). May
I ask someone to please read?”
o Let’s recap on what we’ve spoken
about today…
o Let me briefly summarize the main
points…
o In short…
