WHAT IS THE PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE OF YOUR STUDY?


- The purpose of this phenomenological study is to have a deeper understanding
about security guard’s individual stories, what are their challenges, to determine
how they cope with the challenges, and to know the security guard’s view in their
job. This qualitative research is expected to shed light to the lives of security
guards by showing compassion and respect as what human ought to be. In
general, the aim of this phenomenological study is to dig more to understand
security guard’s stories during hard times.
TO WHOM DID YOU ANCHOR YOUR STUDY?
- This study is anchored to Risk Theory of Safety and Security the basic terms of
Ludek Lukas. Basic terms are threat risk, damage, and impact. The risk theory
offers to the theory of safety and security basic method, logical approach to the
identification and assessment of safety and security problems by identifying
threats, risks analysis and the choice of method of risk management.
WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR STUDY?
- The significance of our study will greatly beneficial to the following:
- To the school they can share this study with the other schools to see how
security guards deal with their challenges.
- To the Security Guard . This will proffen their awareness about the challenges of
the other security guard. Moreover, they will obtain deeper understanding prior to
the stories of the security guards.
- To the community. They acquire deeper knowledge and recognize the
challenges of work done by Security Guard through the given data.
- The researchers, the process and the outcome of this study will provide great
satisfaction to the researchers.
- To the future researcher. This study will serve as reference material for a topic
related to the stories of the security guard. This will also serve as an opportunity
to gain knowledge and discover new things that will develop their perspective
connection with the stories of security guard.
WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF YOUR STUDY?
- This study aimed to know the Stories of Security Guard in Daanbantayan. We
used simple random sampling on our 16 respondents that includes eight (8)
informants answer in-depth interview and eight (8) participant that have the focus
group discussion. This study is limited only in gathering the stories of Security
Guard in Daanbantyan at the age of 21-50 years old.
HOW DID YOU ORGANIZE YOUR STUDY?
- After the in-depth interview and focus group discussion the record voices were
transcribed, translated, and analyzed after the in-depth interview and focus group
discussion.
- The three procedures we did during the data analysis are:
- data reduction, data display, and conclusion after verification from our subject.
- data reduction – the answers were translate and transcribe
- Data display – it showcases the percentage of table 2,3,4
- · General = 50%
- · Typical =10 to 49%
- · Variant = less than 10%
- -Conclusion -preliminary thoughts was produced

WHAT IS THE CONTENT OF YOUR CHAPTER 2?


- The content of our Chapter 2 consists of titles, ideas and various related articles
that the researchers included in the study. There are several perspective and
insight related to stories of security guards.
WHAT RESEARCH DESIGN DID YOU USE IN YOUR STUDY?
- The research design that we used in our study is phenomenological research
design. Because according to creswell (2013), phenomenological research
design focuses on the commonality of a lived experience within a specific group.
WHAT IS/ARE YOUR ROLE AS A RESEARCHER?
- Our role as a researcher are the following:
- As interviewers, the researchers asked the respondent about their challenges
being a security guard and what insights they can share to other security guard
and to those people who are planning to become a security guard.
- The researchers served as moderators for a group discussion or focus group.
The researchers were in charge of ensuring that the discussion ran smoothly,
managing the group process, and introducing or sharing relevant ideas.
- As transcribers, the researchers wrote down the responses of interviewers to
have clear and efficient understanding. We the researchers are assigned to
formally formulate accurate responses by our respondent to translate and
transcribe them precisely.
- As listeners, the researchers allowed the respondents to freely express their
thoughts and opinions without interruptions or judgments.
WHO ARE THE PARTICIPANTS IN YOUR STUDY?
- The participants of our study are the security guards living in daanbantayan.
WHAT ARE THE RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS DID YOU USE IN YOUR STUDY?
- The research instruments that we used in our study are the following:
- Checklist, to check the respondents we interview.
- Paper and pen, to list down their responses.
- An android phone, to record.
- And a interview guide, for our questions needed to ask.

- We gathered our data by interviewing and with the use of our research
instruments.

WHAT ARE THE MAJOR THEMES IN YOUR TABLE NUMBER 2?


- The major themes in our table number 2 are DEALING CUSTOMERS,
STANDING FOR LONG HOURS, AND FAST EATING.

WHAT IS YOUR CONLUSION IN YOUR RESEARCH STUDY?


- This phenomenological study deeply understand the challenges of security
guards in Daanbantayan, how they cope with the challenges and their insights as
well. The respondents who were all molded by their challenges proudly voice out
their stories. The conclusion of our study are that in our first question the
respondents share their challenges that were stated in our table 2, the following
are the challenges they have share first, DEALING WITH THE CUSTOMER,
STANDING FOR LONG HOURS and FAST EATING. In our second question
our respondents share how they cope on those challenges that stated in table 3,
REMAIN CALM, FAMILY INSPIRATION and HAVING ENOUGH REST. And
lastly in our third question the respondents gave insight to the other security
guards that stated in our table 4, SETTLE THINGS, TEAMWORK and
BRIGHTER FUTURE.

- Develop good communication skills: Being able to communicate effectively is
essential in any job, but it's especially important for security guards. You need to
be able to communicate clearly and confidently with your colleagues, your
clients, and the general public.

- Conformability refers to the objectivity of research during data collection and data
analysis. There needs to be congruence between two or more independent
persons about the accuracy, relevance, or meaning of the data (Polit & Beck,
2012) conformability also indicates a means to demonstrate quality.
