Badminton Rules
TOSS - toss shall be conducted before a match starts. If you win, you can choose between serving first or start
play at either end of the court.

1. To begin, players stand in diagonally opposite service courts and the server then serves the shuttlecock
underhand from below the waist.
2. If the receiver thinks the serve is fault, meaning it will land outside the receiver's service court, he or she can
leave it and win the point if it does go out. But if the receiver thinks the serve is good, he or she must return it
before it bounces.
3. If the return is good, a rally begins. The rally continues until someone wins it by hitting a good shot which
their opponent cannot return or until someone loses it by hitting a fault.
4. Whoever wins the rally earns one point. and serves to start the next point.
5. Play continues until one player wins the game by being the first to earn 21 points, with a margin of at least 2
points. If the score is 21 t0 19, the game is over. But if the score 21 to 20, the game continues.
6. Matches are usually the best of three games. This means the first player to win two games wins the match.
7. If the score is even number, the service begin at the right side of the court. If the score is odd number, service
begins at the left side of the court.

FAULT
1. If the shuttle lands outside the boundaries of the court, passes through or under the net, fail to pass the net,
touches the ceiling or side walls, touches the person or dress of a player or touches any other object or
person.
2. If a player touches the net or its supports with the racket, person or dress, invades an opponent's court over
the net with racket or person except as permitted.
3. If a player invades an opponent's court under the net with racket or person such that an opponent is
obstructed or distracted.
4. If a player deliberately distracts an opponent by any action such as shouting or or making gestures.
5. If the shuttle is caught and held on the racket and then slung during the execution of a stroke.
6. If the shuttle is hit twice in succession by the same player with two strokes.
7. If the shuttle is hit by a player and the player's partner successively or touches a player's racket and
continues towards the back of that player's court.

LET
LET may be given for any unforeseen or accidental occurrence.

1. If the shuttle us caught in the net and remains suspended on top or after passing over the net, is caught in the
net, it shall be LET except on service.

2. If during service, the receiver and server are both faulted at the same time, it shall be LET.

3. If during play, the shuttle disintegrates and the base completely separates from the rest of the shuttle, it shall
be LET.

4. If a line judge is unsighted and the umpire is unable to make decision, it shall be LET.
