GEOMETRIC DESIGNS
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Geometric Shapes
It is a figure or area closed by a boundary which is created by combining the
specific amount of curves, points, and lines.
It is also a geometric information which remains when location, scale, orientation
and reflection are removed from the description of a geometric.
5. Polygon
A polygon is made up of only lines and has no curves. It may not have any open parts. In
this case, a polygon is basically a broader term to several shapes such as a square,
triangle, and a rectangle.

Geometric Patterns
It consists of series of shapes. Patterns made from shapes are similar to patterns
made from numbers because the pattern is determined by a rule and for the rule you can
continue the pattern.

Below are some links that you can see the different geometric pattern and designs that were
used in the development of one’s culture.

ASAQ #1 Circle is not a polygon since it is created using curves, something does not
adhere to the definition of a polygon.
ASAQ #2 The basic geometric plane shapes are circle, triangle, rectangle, rhombus,
square and trapezoid.
ASAQ #3 A polygon refers to a shape which is composed of mere lines. Moreover, it does
not have any open parts. It is generally a broader term to multiple shapes like the square,
triangle as well as a triangle.
ASAQ #4 Triangles on the basis of their sides are scalene , isosceles t and an equilateral
triangle. A scalene does not have any congruent sides while the isosceles triangle consists
of two congruent sides. Similarly, an equilateral one has three congruent sides. It is
important to note that equilateral and equiangular triangles are the two different terms we
use for the same triangle.
ASAQ #5 The main property of a parallelogram is that parallel lines do not cross or intersect

each other. Moreover, it does not matterRev
