I. Objective
At the end of 60-minute discussion the learners will be able to:
a. rote count from one to five orally;
b. write the numbers one through five, without help;
c. count objects from one to five.

B. Materials: Paper, Pencils, Chalkboard, Chalk, blocks, cut outs, Macaroni,
Counting Activity Sheet, Video Presentation

For Learners With Disability As Basis In Module Preparation For Sped

D. Value Focus: Knowing the importance of counting numbers

III. Procedure
A. Drill
Individually have students count as high as they can to determine where the
class is.
Have the students write the numbers 1-5 to see where they are.

B. Review
The teacher will let the pupils identify the shapes of things inside the
classroom.

C. Motivation
The pupils will watch a nursery rhyme video entitled “Counting 1-5” by
Pinkfong.

Ask:
 What numbers did you see in the video? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
KRA 2 The teacher select, develop, organizes and uses appropriate teaching learning resources
including ICT to address learning goals.

D. Presentation and Discussion
 The teacher will get five blocks and count them while stacking the blocks
in front of the learners.
 Altogether the teacher and the learners will count the blocks.
 The teacher will give each learner 5 blocks. The learners will count while
stacking the blocks.
How many blocks did we count? 5
How many blocks did we stack? 5

KRA 1 The teacher uses a range of teaching strategies that arouse the interests of the learners
through games: uses the prior knowledge in Adapted PE Subject.

 Teacher will show learners on how to write correctly on the board the
numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
 How do we write number 1? Straight line down. Then we’re done.
 The learners will be asked to write on the board the number 1.
 How do we write number 2? Make a candy cane and give it a shoe. That’s
that way we make number 2.
 The learners will be asked to write on the board the number 2.
 How do we write number 3? Around the tree, around the tree. That’s the
way we make a three.
 The learners will be asked to write on the board the number 3.
 How do we write number 4? Go down, across, and go down some more.
That’s the way we make number four.
 The learners will be asked to write on the board the number 4.

 How do we write number 5? Go down, around, and make a flag up high.


That’s how we make a five.
 The learners will be asked to write on the board the number 5.
 The teacher will ask the learners to count again from 1 to 5.

KRA 2 The teacher manages classroom structure to engage learners in hands-on activities based on
their interest and capabilities.

E. Application
 The teacher will give each learner five macaroni pasta in a small bowl and
let him/her count the macaroni.

 Teacher will give a happy face sticker if the learner counts the number of
macaronies correctly.

F. Generalization
The teacher asks the learners to count the numbers posted on the board:
 12345

The teacher asks the learners if what did they learn in today’s lesson.
 Counting 1 through 5
 Writing correctly numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

IV. Assessment
The learners will answer independently and will be given ample time to finish the
worksheet.
