THE ORDER OF ADJECTIVES

Tính từ trong tiếng Anh được sắp xếp theo thứ tự như sau: O – S – A – S – C – O – M – P

Example
beautiful, pretty, good, clever, fabulous, great, energetic, comfortable, careful, expensive,
O: Opinion
excited, interesting….
S: Size big, small, tiny, tall, huge, enormous, large, immense, colossal, gigantic….
A: Age old, young, modern, ancient, new, up to date….
round, square, rectangular, triangle, quadrangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal,
S: Shape
spherical….
C: Color red, white, black, green, blue, yellow, gray, brown, murrey, turquoise….
O: Origin Vietnamese, Chinese, English, American, French, Italian, Canadian, Japanese, Korean…
M: Material iron, brick, wooden, woolen, feather, golden, silver, stone, plastic, silk, metal, leather….
P: Purpose dacing, racing, washing, sleeping, breathing, riding, driving, diving, baking….

Để làm được dạng bài tập này cần phải xác định được tính từ đó thuộc nhóm nào và sau đó sắp xếp
chúng theo đúng thứ tự như trên.
Ví dụ:

 - My daughter is an adorable tall young Vietnamese girl.


- My daughter is a tall young Vietnamese adorable girl
- My daughter is a young Vietnamese adorable girl.

- My daughter is a Vietnamese young adorable tall girl.
- …
Ở ví dụ trên ta thấy có 4 tính từ:
- adorable: đáng yêu Thuộc nhóm O – Opinion
- Vietnamese: người Việt Nam Thuộc nhóm O - Origin
- young: trẻ Thuộc nhóm A - Age
- tall: cao Thuộc nhóm S – Size

 Opinion – Size – Age – Origin nên ta sắp xếp theo thứ tự như sau: “adorable – tall – young –
Vietnamese”

Các tính từ thường có các hậu tố (đuôi từ) như sau:
