Sequence - a set of numbers or figures based on a pattern or rule.

It is also means an ordered list of

numbers.

Each number in a sequence is called a term

Finite – with last term

Infinite – with ellipsis (…)

Series - the sum of the terms of a sequence

Arithmetic Sequence - is a numerical sequence in which the difference between any two consecutive
term is constant.

- Constant is the common difference.

- Formula -> 𝑛𝑡ℎ term -> : 𝒂𝒏 = 𝒂𝟏 +( 𝒏 – 𝟏)d

Arithmetic means - terms between any two nonconsecutive terms of an arithmetic sequence.

x+ y
If between hanap then : x=
2
Geometric Sequence - Asequence in which there is a common ratio between any consecutive terms.

- The common ratio is denoted as 𝑟 and is derived by dividing the succeeding term by the
preceding term.
n−1
- The formula for the 𝑛𝑡ℎ term of an geometric sequence where 𝑟 ≠ 0 is: a n=a1 r

Geometric series - is the sum of the terms of a geometric sequence

The geometric mean between any positive terms of a geometric sequence is the square root of their
product.

√ ab – positive geometric mean of 𝑎 and 𝑏

−√ ab – negative geometric mean of 𝑎 and b
