Barangay Aribungos Annual Clean Up Drive

2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020

Barangay Aribungos is a Barangay that is well known as one of the cleanest and greenest
Barangay in Brooke’s Point. As part of the Barangay Annual Foundation celebration, the Barangay
Captain Hon. Edgar N. Inso also spearheading a program called Barangay Aribungos Clean-Up Drive. The
purpose of this program was to build a community task force to work together for a common cause
which is to promote cleanliness in the community.
I am an active participant of this program since 2017 up to 2020 before the COVID 19 strikes.

Here are the activities happened yearly and the accomplishments of the program:

Various groups gathers at the Barangay plaza. Barangay Officials, SK Federation members, Purok
Members, Teachers, Elementary Students, High school Students, Barangay Health workers, Barangay
utilities and tanod are the participants.
The real work began soon after the opening program and inspirational message by the Barangay
Captain Hon. Edgar N. Inso. Multitudes were split into smaller groups and sent to target each of the
Puroks, highway, school, and Barangay site. We the teachers and students worked alongside the young
people of the Barangays who were also active participants, as were the Purok Officials. Soon, bags of
rubbish were pilled, and gradually areas of ground were being cleaned. You could see the happiness of
the participants during the activity despite of the hot weather. At the end the bags were taken out to
the barangay MRF for segregation.
It was an impressive turn-out yearly every end of the activity from all the stakeholders involved,
and you could really see the difference at the end, it was a remarkable transformation, all brought about
by contribution of the people involved.
This year 2021 Clean-Up Drive Program is still implemented but only the Barangay Workforce
are the participants because of the health protocols given by the Municipal IATF.
