This method statement gives guide lines contained herein to ensure that the job execution complies with the
requirement of the project requirements, specification and the Authorities concerned and serves the intended
purpose to satisfactory level. <l""'1-

SCOPE

This Method Statement covers the nature and type of work for the Installation and insulation of HVAC GI Duct and
accessories. This procedure is to be read in conjunction with the relevant Inspection and Tes la·n (ITP) cle and
detail, outlining the responsibility and the quality verjfication to be performed by various parties.

5.1 RESPONSI BILITIES.
5.2 Project Manage r (EEMS) : Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with this method statement and
all necessary safety and protective equipment are provided a long with properly trained and qualified
personnel dedicated to work on task.
5.3 Constructio n Manager ( EEMS) : In charge shall be responsible for coordination and supervision of
construction works (activities) and construction groups, ensuring that works shall be done as per project
specification and approved drawings,and all safety measures are implemented .
5.4 QA QC Engineer ( EEMS) : Obtain consent for applicable ITP prior to use. Ensure that all inspections and tests
are carried out as per project requirement and in turn are recorded. Ensure that all equipment related are
calibrated. Maintain all quality records relevant to verification of records
5.5 Project Engineer/Site Engineer: Shall be responsible for all site activities and closed supervision for the
installation of all works . To carry out the work as approved method statement. He is also responsible to
ensure adequate equipment and tools to carry out the work and assure that disposal of debris will be as per
approved designated dis posal point.
5.6 Surveyo r (EEMS) : Responsible for all su rvey works related to levels for formation levelof blinding,
coordinates with site engineer to ensure that all required information has been provided to proceed with the
works complying with the project specification/standards.
5.7 Genera l Foreman {E EMS) : Shall be supervising closely the activities designated to them ensuring that a ll
instructions and procedures according to this method statement and Risk Assessment are str ictly followed.
5.8 Safety Officer {EEMS): Responsible for day-to-day activities on maintaining safety on site complying with
the requirements of project HSE Plan Cooperate wit h the Project team to create and maintain safe
working conditions. Assist Site Engineers and Foremen to organize the work area to perform their duties with
maximum efficiency and minimize risk to them or to equipment. Inspect equipment and tools before use to
ensure correct storage and proper utilization. Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe

accidents that have occurred within incident areas. Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and
Health Plan (SSHP). Maintain record of all injuries and damages on site. Submit HSE reports as require.
6.1 MANPOWER
• Ensure that all safety requirements are in place in accordance with project safety plan & Qatar
Aut hority Health & Safety codes of practice.
• All the wiring accessories materials will be transported to the site by the supplier and care shall be
taken by the storekeeper to ensure the materials are not damaged during transport.
• All the wiring accessories materials to be stored properly immediately after receiving in site.
• Special care shall be taken by the storekeeper to protect the materials from physical damage and
distortion. Material should be stored on site before installation shall be properly secured.
• On receipt of the material at site, QA/QC Engineer I Site Electrical Engineer shall inspect the
material internally and inspection shall be offered to the Consultant for approva l through
material inspection request (MIR) form.
• Ensure that wiring accessories materia ls used have passed receiving ins pection in accordance
with QAQC procedures and are not damaged or defective.

• Ens ure that all electricians and helpers are aware of the correct materials handling and installation
procedure to ensure best quality of workmanship.
• Ens ure that wiring accessories materials sha ll be fr ee from damaged and cleaned prior for
installation.
• Work shall be carried out by the site perso nnel under strict supervision and guidance of the
concerned Supervisor s/ Foreman {Electrical) and Site Electrica l Engineer.
• Obtain work permit, if requir ed.
• Ensure the work area is clean and safe to take-up the activities.
• Prior start to installation, refer to the approved shop drawings and details related to the
installation area.
• Installation of wiring accessories materials s hall be coordinated with other services for a fit for
purpose installation.
• Supervisor/ Foreman {Electrical) shall ensure equipment and correct tools are avai lable
for installation to achieve compliance with the contra ct requirements.
• Where further information I clarification in respect of Contract drawings are required the
matter shall be referred to the Contractor by means of a Request for Information {RFI).
• Work shall be carried out by the site personnel under strict s upervision and guidance of the
concerned Supervisors/ Foreman {Electrical) & Site Electrical Engineer .
• Site Inspection Request {SIR) will be prepared, signed I stamped by the Subcontractor and shall be
submitted to Main Contractor/ Consultant for witness and approval.
• Ensure prior to start of wiring accessories insta llation wiring and megger test is approved
by Engineer.
• Ensure and select the Wiring Accessories as per spec ific requirement as indicated in the
approved shop drawings and material submittal.
• After first coat of paint on wall/ceiling/floor wiring accessories will be installed as per approved
shop drawing& coordination drawing.
• All installation will be in accordance with IEE regulation/KR regulation and approved shop drawings.
• Wir ing accessories are fixed at height as shown in approved shop drawing/architectura l lay out
and coordination drawing and KR regulation.
• Clearance must be provided as per distance shown in approved shop drawing.
• Ensure setting out and s pacing between backboxes are approved by architect/Electrica l engineer
prior to proceeding with installation of wiring accessories.
• Ens ure a ll back boxes are flushed w ith plaster finish and suitable extension box shall be used in case
of gap .
• Face plate shall be install e d on ly after prop er finishing and final painting around the
wiring accessories.
• Face plate w ill be installed in s uch a way that all four edges in continuous contact with finished wall.
• Sea ling between accessor ies and wall sha ll be properly done .
• Prior to wire termination on the sockets/switches outlets back box shall be cleaned properly.

• The earthing termina lconnected to earth continuity conductor of the final sub circuit shall be
provided at every switch socket position.
• Ratings of switches and sockets should be as per approved drawings as well as specifications a nd
material submittal.
• The termina l capacity of the socket outlet should be 2x4 mm sq. and 3x2.S sq.mm rigid cable.
Constr uction of the plug is such that it can be inserted in one orientation. Earth pin makes first
breaks last.
• Pre-equipped floor boxes shall be installed flush with floor flushing.
• Ensure the conduiting to the floor boxes done properly prior to casting of screeding.
• Location and orientation of floor boxes shall be as per architectural approved layouts.
• Ensure enough distance between water source and power outlets are maintained in accordance with KR
regulations .
• While termination of socket polarity should be considered.
• All switches, sockets and other outlets shall be identified with relevant circuit reference and DB
reference. MEP Contractor to obtain approval for the sample labelling.
• In wet areas and externa l locations only weatherproof type switches wit h specified IP ratings shall be
installed as applicable and as per project specification.
10.2 General
• Before Starting repair QA/QC must ensure that the location must be identified, marked, and cleaned.
• QA/QC to ensure that all activities done in proper standards before submitting the site Inspection
Request (SIR) for Consultant's Approval.
• QA/QC must ensure before proceeding any activities inspection approval are obtained from the Engineer.
12.2 Safety Lightings: Sa fety lights will be used in case of power failure ensu ring good illumination for the personnel.
12.3 Task Lightings Adequate lightings will be provided ensuring the good illumination of the work ing area.
Task lighting will be connected to the nearest site distribut ion board which is RCD protected.

12.3 Emergency Arrangements: Site general safety procedure will be followed. In case of emergency the safety
officer w ill stop the works. He will put in to action the emergency arrangements as described in the
safety manua l.
