Mechanics of the Game:
1. All players will be given pictures of a dentist, nurse, and physician.
2. A question will be flash on screen and they have only five minutes to choose one picture.
3. They will guess the health professionals that suits on their job description.
Activity

Answer:
A qualified person who delivers proper health care in a systematic and professional way to
any individual in need of health care services.

2. Name the different health professional/specialist:

Physician, Nurse, Obstetrician, Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Ophthalmologist, Neurologist,
Psychiatrist, Gerontologist, Surgeon, Nephrologist, Podiatrist, Physical Therapist,

Abstraction

Answer:

1. Physician - identify symptoms and diagnose patients.


2. Nurse - perform physical exams and record health histories for patients, before
making critical decisions.
3. Obstetrician – specialist in caring for the mother before during and immediately after
birth.
4. Gynecologist-specialist in women’s condition and diseases, especially of the female
reproductive system.
5. Pediatrician-specialist in health and illness of children.
6. Ophthalmologist-specialist in treating eye conditions and diseases.
7. Neurologist- specialist in diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system.
8. Psychiatrist-specialist in the treatment of mental and emotional condition and
disorders.
9. Gerontologist- specialist for the aged and elderly.
10. Surgeon-performs surgical related cases.
11. Nephrologist-specialist to the disorder of the kidney.
12. Podiatrist- specialist various feet related diseases.
13. Physical Therapist- rehabilitates persons with strength mobility.
14. Speech and Language Pathologist- treats persons with communication deficits and
disorders.
15. Dermatologist- treats persons with problems in the skin and other skin derivatives.
16. Dentist -specialist for tooth problems.
17. Cardiologist- treat heart diseases and heart abnormalities.

4. Why are they important in the community?


Answer:
Health professionals study, diagnose, treat and prevent human illness, injury and other
physical and mental impairments in accordance with the needs of the populations they
serve.

The class will be divided into four groups and performed their task. Three minutes to accomplish.

Group 1 –Pick one health professional and dramatize how they rendered their service to the
people / community.
Application
( 10 minutes )

Group 2 – Look at the picture below. During a strong typhoon some people got injured or
helpless. What do you think health professionals can do to help those victims? Choose one
representative to share your group’s answer. (DRRE Integration)
Group 3 – Create a logo that symbolizes our Philippines Health Practitioners. (Art Integration)

Group 4 – Think of a song you can dedicate to our modern heroes (health practitioners) and
perform it in front of the class. (Music Integration)
