Week 1-2

What went well?

During the first two weeks I was able to prioritizing tasks and my- to do list I needed
to complete during the day. I was also able to delegating basic responsibility to
staff and my vice principal. At Carmelita government school we feed over an
hundred student daily with freshly made food every day. We also grow or vegies
and fish on the school compound. So there is a lot of responsibility and things
must do daily. Delegating task went well.

What was easy?

The easiest thing to do was my checklist and prioritizing my task. Going to the office
early in the morning was easy and I found myself being assisted by my family in
getting up early.

What was challenging?

The challenging part was that upon arrival at school many times parents would flood
my office with daily problems. This would sometimes force me to do some
adjustments having in mind that I would direct traffic of some parents to my vice
principal. Giving me time to breathe and do my checklist for the day.

How will you change your plan or approach for the next three weeks?

For the next three weeks I plan to incorporate asking for help. During my lunch
break I will be Sharing experiences, advice, and encouragement with peers to help
alleviate stress and create a sense of camaraderie
Identify 2 persons that you will share your plan with and will hold you accountable.

Two person that I will share my plan and hold me accountable would be my vice
principal and my PTA chair. Working together with them in trying to get the job done
of feeding the kids and running the school smoothly should be interesting at the same
not to crash.

Reflect: What went well? What was easy? What was challenging? Are you noticing
any differences in your mood? How will you change your plan or approach for the
next three weeks?

I feel that I needed to take time out to plan out my day and week. Doing my checklist
and setting timers on my phone turns out great. At first it was difficult in sticking to
the planned time. Made adjustments along the way. By the second week I found it
much easier because I had practice of completing my task. By the second week I
found it less stressful. Getting burn did not worried me because I planned to work
smarter not harder. My mood improved on the second week.

Finally, for the last three weeks I plan to ask for help. During my lunch break I will be
Sharing experiences, advice, and encouragement with peers to help alleviate stress
and create a sense of camaraderie.

Reflect: Do you feel you are creating habits? What might you add to your regular
routine? What differences are you noticing in your peace of mind at school?

Yes I feel I am creating habits such as being punctual and professional at the
workplace. I try to achieve deadlines by managing my time for a healthy work life
balance. Being organized at school is must because I lot of my student depend on me
getting materials to cook. Things are very expensive while I believe we are the only
school that do not charge the students any fee to eat at the school. The key is good
and effective communication and the initiatives myself and my PTA takes proactively.

It gives me greater piece of mind my staff and PTA see the vision, ideas and
organization I bring to the table. I feel sharing the task, delegating and creating a -to do
list really works for me.
