is?
A preposition of place is used to refer
to a place where something or
someone is located.

Now, there are only 3 prepositions of

place that I’m going to discuss today. When something is inside of something.

First, In
When can we used “In”?
Very Good! Yes, ma’am.
Can you give me an example? Example: The pen is inside the box.

What else?
What are the other bases to use in as
preposition of place?

We use then preposition “in” for an Pupils are listening.

enclosed space or a place which is
surrounded by boundaries.
For examples:
The dog is in the garden.
I have an apple in my bag. The ball is inside the box.
David’s car is in the car park.
Let’s go for a walk in the forest.

Also, preposition “in” is used towns and

cities.
Examples:
I was born in Japan.
Anna leaves in Korea.

Lastly, “In” is used for private transport, The pen is in the bag.
where you don’t share the vehicle (this
includes taxis).
Examples:

Now, let’s talk about “On”. When something or someone is on the

When can we use ‘’On’’? surface of something.
Very good! The pen is on the table.
Who can give me an example?
Very well said!

What else?

“On” is used for public transport,

where we share the vehicles
with others.
For examples:
There was a restaurant on our
train.
There are famous people on the Example: I’m on a plane.
Titanic.
Now, who can give me another
example/s?
Very good!
No, ma’am.
Do you have any questions?
Okay, so let’s use ‘’on’’ in a
sentence.
Who can make a sentence base 1. There’s a clock on the wall.
on the given picture? 2. People are riding on a bus.
Very Good!

In addition, we also use “On” if

something is physically attached
or joined to something else.
Example:
She is wearing a ring on her
finger. Example:
Now, who can give me another Jane is wearing earrings on her ears.
example?

Very good!
Who else?

The last one is “at”.

When can we use preposition No, idea ma’am.
“at” in a sentence?
Now, let me discuss this,
“at” is used for specific point or
place; an exact address; and for
events.

For a specific point or place.

”AT” It is used to describe a very
specific point or place.
Example:
There is a woman at the bottom
of the steps.
The girl is at the door.

An exact address.
- ‘’At” is an address with the
name of the street and also
the number of the street.
- Examples:
Mark lives at 55 Oxford
Street.
Lapu-Lapu-Cebu
International is located at
Ticgahon Road 1 Brgy.
Bankal, Lapulapu City.

But if we don’t know the

exact address and we only
know the name of the street,
then we use “on” as the
preposition.

Example:
Mark lives on Oxford Street.

For events.
We use “at” to describe being
present at an event.
Examples:
I was at the party last night.
He is at a concert.
No, ma’am.
