SUBJECT : Spot Report re-Stabbing Incident

DATE : October 19 , 2023

1. On October 17, 2023 at about 8:00 o’clock in the morning CPS received a phone
call regarding a stabbing incident that transpired at Barangay 4, Calatagan,
Batangas wherein victim Eduard Q. Sumanting, 35 years old, married,
businessman, and a resident of Brgy. Quilitisan, Calatagan Batangas, was seen
lifeless inside the master’s bedroom by his house helper, John Dave Manalo, 26
years old, single and a resident of Brgy. 4, Calatagan, Batangas City.

2. The victim sustained (4) stab wounds in the back and a blanket wrapped around
his head. The victim was pronounced dead on the spot. According to John Dave
Manalo, Niel Balina was having a meeting with the victim at the victim's house
around 10:00 o’clock in the evening of October 16, 2023. John Dave saw Niel
Balina left at the victim’s residence at 5:00 o’clock in the morning after his
meeting with the victim.

3. The victim is now in the Batangas Provincial Hospital for autopsy. One (1)
kitchen knife was recovered in the crime scene that is in the table and now under
the custody of this station for further investigation.

4. The motive of incident is undetermined and the case still under investigation.
