Lesson Title Measures of Spread

Importance of
Technology Using a multimedia authoring tool is critical to this project because it gives
you everything you need in one place. It would be hard to complete this
project without this technology because you would not be able to have
access to what you need easily. There will not be any other technology used
in this learning experience.

Student Privacy

Some possible issues that could arise are students not remembering their
account information, they could be off task on their device, or to make sure
each website is safe.
I would have the students write down their account information and I would
give the students a list of resources they should get their content from. I will
approve all of the sites beforehand, so the students do not have to search
any other websites.

Universal Design
Rationale The lesson provides multiple means of representation by letting the students
see the content first in class and then through the video. They will have
multiple areas to refer to when creating their product. The lesson provides
multiple means of engagement by having the students create an example of
the content individually or in pairs if they choose to. The lesson provides
multiple means of expression by having the students see the how of learning
by creating their own examples of measures of spread. When the students
are creating a product it furthers their understanding of the content.

Lesson Idea
I will have the students write the learning target in their notes to address the
standards. The project will be introduced in front of the class the day after the
students took notes and practiced finding measures of spread. It will be
introduced after the students watch the video I have created for them. They
will have a week to complete the project working individually or in pairs.

Students learning will be addressed by the viewing of the video, I will watch
each video to look if the students can show their knowledge on measures of
spread. The final product will be used to inform learning by letting the
students see the content in multiple ways. I could extend the learning by
having the students watch each video to see the different examples other
students came up with. I will conclude the lesson by giving the students
feedback about their work. I will tell the students what I thought they did well.

Design Reflection I feel this activity can be very helpful to students because they have to create
something meaningful to them. To extend, the lesson I could have students
do this for their test review so they could have an extra resource to study
with. The students could create a quizlet on the content in their product to
have an additional resource.
