III. Project Activities

This project title Construction of Multi-Purpose Building was plan to implement at
Brgy. Pontoc Lemery Iloilo. So, as a resident of this Brgy. together with my coworkers
Micah, we are assigned and tasked to do estimation cost of this project using the Excel
Program. This is our first activity and tasked on our first day. On this week, I was also
visited the site at Brgy. Omio to check their gymnasium. Our supervisor told us to measure
the length of their gym side by side using the long tape. Furthermore, on this week we also
go at the site to check and visit the project construction of D.A. Building in Brgy. Pob.
South East, Zone, Lemery, Iloilo. So, we were tasked there to measure the floor area using
the long tape from the ground floor up to the second floor of the building. Lastly, we were
tasked to do the estimate of tiles needed in floor area as well as the painting for interior and
exterior walls of the building.

IV. Project Accomplishments
My accomplishment here in this project is an opportunity to me to be able to learn
and gain some knowledge. We are so luckily because our supervisor checked our work and
make sure to clarify the things we don't know. Even we are not fully familiar with the
estimate yet, still we finish the project estimation cost with the guide by our supervisor. At
the end, we are able to do our tasked and accomplish the activity with our best.

V. Key Learning
The actual plan of the project was assigned and given to us and tasked to make an
estimate. In a certain project it is important to check every detail to ensure that every
information is correct. In estimating a project, you need to input every detail of a plan
considering its area, width, and length of the dimensions to be encoded using the Excel
Program. Solving the total output to create a necessary budget and considering the need of
a project to be implemented. So far, I was excited because I know it is for our sake to study
and to learn advance the estimation cost of a certain project. Indeed, it was a great
experience, visiting the site also make me excite for I was able check the project progress.
Plus, in site visit I have now familiarized some of materials and equipment’s that usually
used in construction.

VI. Self- Assessment based on Core Competencies

My first week was personally motivating and enhancing. I am so happy because I
know I am working in a good working environment. On my first day, as I entered this OJT,
I was very nervous, but the people there was so nice welcoming us with the smile on there
face. In workplace, we are allowed also to follow strictly the safety protocols with regards
for our own safety and protection. Since, I am OJT trainee there's a lot of things I want to
learn and improve my skills to be a productive civil engineer someday. So, I will do my
best also to be responsible enough in accepting every challenge and do the tasked in OJT
better and accurate.

VII. Unforgettable Experience in the Project/Training

It was really a challenging and unforgettable experience for I was having fun my
OJT since day 1 of our work. It’s a good preparation and a good start on how to handle
pressure on my future job. Being supervised by my instructor and adviser is a big advantage
for me for they can guide me in my work. I am also blessed because I know I am working
in a good working environment. The people there are so nice and trying their best to mold
us on the best that we can be specially to our supervisors Engr. Edwin R. Beria and Engr.
Noel for their patience on us and for sharing their knowledge. Also, I am very excited for

 every time when we are travelled to go at the site for, I have got some new experiences in
actual site. All our experiences here could be our weapon to equipped us in our future work
someday.
