Solid waste management has become a significant issue that all of us are currently facing.
This is due to a number of factors, but primarily because of our tendency to overconsume, which
has made us blinded to the fact that every single student and member of staff contributes to the
significant amount of waste produced by the university.

There are plenty ways to address the university’s solid waste problems. As a student of
Cavite State University, we can solve the problems starting by ourselves. Having a good
attitude/discipline together with awareness and education is one of the greatest solutions about
the solid waste problems. Proper waste disposal is important for protection of environment and it
will lessen the expenses used by the university about waste management. By having enough
knowledge regular and proper waste management will lessen the solid waste management
problems. Most of the people who lack of knowledge not only about the solid waste but also to
the university’s policy about waste are the greatest contributors of waste in the campus since they
didn’t know what are the things they should do. People must have positive attitude towards waste
disposal, since the attitude of people about waste disposal is affected by their level of knowledge.
Having the students and the staffs understand the different policies implemented by the university
can help to achieve not only health and environmental benefits but also for the sake of the
university. If good discipline and attitude are obtained, every kind of solutions will follow. For an
instance is the waste being brought to the university especially during the STRASUC, there are
CvSU students who are littering and leaving their waste beside on the university grounds, if they
have discipline then they will follow the policy being implemented by the school. Misinformation
can be addressed by having a regular webinar and placing posters and doing a campaign that
supports the university’s waste management policies that could enlighten the students about the
wrong information they have. Those are some of the solutions needed to the problems, to put it
simply it should start by ourselves having good attitude since it serves as the foundation for the
other solutions to prosper.
