Abstract of ZINC COATING (HOT-DIP) ON IRON

ASTM A153M MATERIALS

1995 AND STEEL HARDWARE

IFI NOTES:

1. ASTM A1531A153M is a specification developed through the proce-

dures of ASTM. A 153 is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee A-
S on Metallic Coated Iron and Steel Products and is the direct re-
sponsibility of its Subcommittee AOS.13 on Structural Shapes and
Hardware Specifications.

2. Originally published as ASTM A153 it was redesignated A 1531A153M

in 1995 and covers hot-dip galvanizing of various forms of iron and
steel products, including fasteners. This abstract has been editori-
al/y modified to eliminate those requirements and references which
specifically exclude fasteners. Also omitted are those requirements
dealing with quality assurance and inspection, and a listing of appli-
cable documents. The metric units in this abstract are approximate
based on inch-pound conversions. The values in inch-pound units
are to be regarded as standard and are included in the complete A 153/
A 153M. For the omitted information, refer to the complete standard.
The paragraph numbers throughout this abstract are those of ASTM
A 153/A153M-95.

Book of ASTM Standards. copyright American Society for Testing

units may only be approximate. (IFI Note: Re-
