While working with Northern Regional Health Authority (NRHA) & Emera Inc., the access and proximity to
experienced Procurement and Logistics professionals honed my Logistics strategies and the thought processes that
go into working with Materials Management, Travel Management, and Project Management. I assisted NRHA
acquire a range of materials in compliance with government regulations, handling quotes, bids, costs, and delivery
schedules to ensure quality, accessible health services across 60% Manitoba. I worked with NRHA management in
obtaining materials for Thompson Fire & Emergency Services (TFES) and Manitoba Capital Infrastructure Projects.
I manage Logistics support in Manitoba's remote areas while making sure that parts and materials are timely
supplied. In addition, as a Procurement Intern at Emera Inc., I assisted management in the NSP Maritime Link
Project of scheduling, planning, and forecasting of various parts and materials. I coordinated purchases from
multiple vendors across the world, which helped me to develop the ability to communicate with different
stakeholders and prepare logistics/travel policies, as well as resolve discrepancies. I performed several material
management duties while adhering to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and guidelines, as
well as those for quality assurance. In all my jobs with Taste East Inc., I worked closely and independently with
suppliers, internal and external clients regularly coordinating contracts and operational issues where I thrived in
detecting deviations and implementing continuous improvement actions. I used my analytical skills to explore
opportunities that minimize cost and directed my problem-solving abilities towards minimizing lead times,
interpreting complex issues, and implementing sustainable solutions. I was lauded for my quick learning ability and
enthusiasm towards being exposed to different Supply Chain functions. Although my position entailed only
procurement, upon noting my willingness to learn I was also given logistics and project management-related
assignments. I regularly reported and resolved overage, shortage, and damage issues between clients and vendors
making sure the timely invoice payment, which strengthened my ability to manage expectations and be proactive
and diligent. Engaging with clients and vendors daily at S&P Data incapacity of an analyst enhanced my customer
focus and ability to work both in teams and independently.
My self-motivated move to St. John’s, rural Newfoundland and then to Northern Manitoba for work is a prime
example of my willingness to go the extra mile and be flexible to work between different locations. Noteworthy are
my volunteer positions as Vice-President of the Student Association at Memorial University, which significantly
upgraded my MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge along with attention to detail, interpersonal, and
communication skills. I am also highly interested in gaining new IT and software skills as I demonstrated in my
previous jobs with NRHA, Emera Inc., and Taste East Inc, where I became proficient in three different ERP
software, including PowerBI, SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft GP & Microsoft Outlook.
