SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MUSIC 9 (GRADE 9)

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
 Recognize the famous composers of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque

 Explain the performance practice (setting, composition, role of composers /
performers, and audience) of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Periods.

 Relates Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music to other art forms and its history

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Topic: Music 9 Performance Practice of Medieval, Renaissance, and


Baroque Music and Relate Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque Music
to Other Art Forms
b. Reference Books: In reference to Music 9 Learning Activity Sheet Module 2&3
c. Platforms/Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Images, Online teaching thru Google
meet and Google classroom

III. Procedures/Teaching Strategies

A. Preparation
The teacher will begin the class by greeting the students followed by a short
Prayer headed by the class and checking the student’s attendance.

Review

The teacher will present previous topic and will be recalled with the students.
In order to review what they have learned to their last topic.

Motivation

The teacher will prepare images that are related to the next topic and it will be
answered by students that will come up as the topic of the day. Students will
answer the following:

1. What is in the picture?

2. Differentiate the two pictures (compare and contrast).


B. Presentation/Lesson Proper/Developmental Activities

a. The teacher will present the topic for the day.

b. The teacher will start the discussion about Performance Practice of


Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque Music and Relate Medieval,
Renaissance, and Baroque Music to Other Art Forms.

1. Who is the famous Composer of the Medieval Period?


2. Who are the famous Composer of the Renaissance Period?
3. What are the Music Genres of Baroque Music?
4. Who are the famous Composer of the Baroque Period?
5. Identifying Different Art forms ( Branches of Art)
C. Generalization

The teacher will ask some questions that is related and covered with the topic to
ensure that the class will identify if they listen from the start to the end of
discussion.

D. Application

The teacher will provide a question where students can apply knowledge on
