SITE EHS UPDATE

TELFORD
In April, the final compliance gap analysis was completed at Telford. Overall this was a positive experience with both assessors highlighting and commenting on the positive culture on site
and strong H&S values throughout the workforce as well as an ‘openness and pride’ from employees. There was areas of improvements identified which have been put into the site action
plan, most of these brought forward so they can be actioned immediately.

My Compliance Vision has been delayed so the project to transition over is currently on hold. Work will continue to expand the use of My C on site and build further registers and modules
where it has been identified and planned.

Following an internal meeting it has been decided that Arco are to be removed from site, along with the current vending machines and contract. Work is now underway to switch the PPE
to a different supplier whilst also trialling new PPE to replace the Arco branded PPE that is currently approved. The plan at site is to still use vending machines on site. However, these will
be through the new supplier and what appears to be a better system than what we currently have.

The new HAVs system has been trialled and approved for site. The order has been placed and the information required is being gathered. This is scheduled to be installed during the May
Shutdown with training and a go live date in June.

The site is behind with regards to COSHH, there is an inventory completed and in place, however, the elements for Safhear still need to be completed for the HICE Chemical Saint-Gobain
system. The minimum inventory for Safhear is planned to be completed in May and if possible, an audit against each of the HSE COSHH sheets on site will be conducted before the May
shutdown. If not, this will be done in June at the latest.

A customer came to site to collect goods. He was observed driving the wrong
way through the Weighbridge so Martyn spoke to him so he would be aware of
this for future use. Whilst speaking to him, Martyn noticed that the loads wasn’t
strapped down and the truck appeared overweight, instead of ignoring this,
Martyn spoke to the drive about this and asked to weight the truck. The truck as
in fact 35% overweight so 2 pallets were offloaded.

If it wasn’t for Martyn taking the time to speak to the driver and ensure that the
load was correct and strapped, the truck would likely have left site and been a
real danger to the driver and other road users and pedestrians.

Unfortunately, in April an operator within the area had an accident when
cutting banding, a part flew up and cut his face. A first aider was called to
the scene to provide first aid treatment to the injured operator.

The first aider that provided the treatment was a new first aider and had
only been on training 2 weeks prior to the accident occurring. However, he
had a rapid response and acted calmly and professionally whilst providing
treatment and advice.

Thank you Lee for being well prepared and acting with professionalism and
compassion whilst providing the treatment. If you have an EHS story to share, please get in

A new piece of equipment was purchased for use on site, the equipment was
installed in an area where the work was done before, however, this may not have
been the safest place for this.

Instead of leaving this where it had been originally placed, it was raised as a
concern and the individual arranged for a group of people to come together to
discuss all elements of the equipment, specifically the health and safety concerns.

When bringing people together, changes were made to improve the safety of use.
This shows how important it is for consultation and participation of all
stakeholders when changes made. If you have an EHS story to share, please get in
