I, Shipra Prasad of Loreto College volunteered as an intern
– teaching underprivileged students in Associated Initiative for Mankind Foundation for a total period of 12 hours, 3 hours each dated from 17.11.2023 – 20.11.2023. My primary aim was to contribute to their educational development and empowering the young minds with knowledge and skills. I conducted classes focusing on core subjects, tailored to the students’ needs and understanding levels. To make the sessions enjoyable one day was dedicated to drawing class. Interactive teaching methodologies such as group discussions, educational games and hands on activities were conducted to make learning enjoyable and relatable. I identified significant gaps in educational attainment among students due to lack of resources, infrastructure and support. The experience to teach underprivileged students has been profoundly impactful and motivating. In the future I aspire to engage in these activities more frequently.
