PILLAR 4: RESILIENCY AND WELL-BEING

The table above shows the mitigating measures whenever the school experiences
imminent threat such as earthquake, fire, typhoon and flood, armed conflict and
pandemic.
GAPS AND CHALLENGES:
Risk reduction in school follows four thematic areas under Philippine DRRM Act of 2010
to facilitate the protection of children, education personnel, and education itself. These
are Prevention and Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Rehabilitation.
Yet, the school still has insufficiency when it comes to the preparedness to risks due to
structural integrity of school buildings; awareness and capacity of teachers and
students; as well as inadequacy of equipment. In order to reinforce it, the school must
enhance existing policies, practices, protocols and plans as well as heightened
coordination with barangay and local DRRM Council on the conduct of preparedness
activities and on response needs for stakeholders.
