To whom it may concern,

My name is Nicholas Geffre, and I am a recent graduate of Dakota State University in

Madison, South Dakota. Through Dakota State I earned my Bachelors Degree in Physical
Education with a K-12 technology endorsement. I am looking forward to the possibility of
teaching in your district!
While attending DSU I was a part of the collegiate baseball team. This experience has
helped me develop a strong work ethic along with learning to manage my time well. Although I
no longer play collegiate baseball I have picked up coaching baseball. I have coached multiple
different age levels from middle school to high school. Coaching baseball has taught me many
different skills that I can utilize in the physical education classroom. While coaching, some of the
skills I have learned are designing practice plans, conducting an efficient practice, hosting player
preseason and postseason meetings, and maintaining communication with fellow coaches,
umpires, parents as well as players. I have had the privilege to learn firsthand from a teacher-
coach role model, and this has helped me develop as a leader.
Dakota State University gave me many opportunities for observation in the local school
district. I also had the opportunity to student teach at Sioux Valley School District. This allowed
me to learn from great teachers who taught me classroom management skills along with different
teaching styles. These experiences have made me excited for the next step of my career, which I
hope to do in your district! If you have any further questions in regards to my portfolio please
contact me at geffrenick@yahoo.com or 605-252-1443.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Geffre
