A PCN RTFI (Radiographic Testing Film Interpreter) will plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety,

integrity, and compliance of equipment and structures during an ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil
Company) shutdown. Primary responsibility is to inspect and interpret radiographic films to identify
defects and ensure the quality of welds and components. Here are the typical roles and
responsibilities of a PCN RTFI for an ADNOC shutdown:

Safety: Prioritize safety in all activities, adhering to ADNOC's safety protocols and regulations.
Identify and report potential safety hazards or concerns.

Radiographic Testing: Perform radiographic testing of welds, materials, and components in

accordance with approved procedures, codes, and standards. This may involve using X-ray or
gamma-ray sources.

Film Interpretation: Carefully review and interpret radiographic films to detect weld discontinuities,
such as cracks, porosity, lack of fusion, and other defects. Assess the severity and location of these
defects.

Quality Control: Ensure that radiographic testing equipment and techniques are calibrated,
maintained, and utilized correctly to produce high-quality images. Verify that the equipment is in
good working condition.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all radiographic inspection activities, including

exposure settings, film identification, and interpretation results. Ensure that records comply with
ADNOC's documentation requirements.

Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports with clear findings, including descriptions of any
defects, their location, size, and classification. Report findings to the relevant stakeholders within
ADNOC.

Code Compliance: Ensure that all radiographic testing and interpretations adhere to ADNOC's
standards, industry codes, and any applicable local and international regulations.

Calibration and Maintenance: Regularly calibrate and verify radiographic equipment to ensure
accurate and reliable results. Maintain and document calibration records.

Communication: Collaborate with other members of the inspection team, project managers, and
contractors to provide updates on inspection progress and findings. Share information and address
any issues that may affect the shutdown schedule.

Problem Solving: Identify and address challenges or anomalies that arise during the radiographic
testing process. Collaborate with colleagues to find solutions and maintain inspection efficiency.

Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest radiographic testing techniques, equipment,
and industry best practices. Engage in training and professional development to enhance skills and
knowledge.

Shutdown Support: Assist in planning and coordinating radiographic inspections within the broader
context of the shutdown project. Ensure that radiographic testing activities align with the overall
project schedule.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all radiographic inspections and activities meet regulatory and
environmental requirements. Stay informed about any changes in regulations that may impact
testing procedures.

The specific responsibilities of a PCN RTFI during an ADNOC shutdown may be further defined by the
project's unique requirements and conditions. Therefore, the inspector should work closely with
project management and adhere to the specific guidelines and standards set by ADNOC to ensure
the successful execution of the shutdown project.
The roles and responsibilities of a PCN PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) Inspector for L&T HED
at ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) shutdown is as follows:

Safety: Ensure that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with ADNOC's safety standards
and protocols. This includes conducting safety meetings, inspecting safety equipment, and
monitoring the work environment for potential hazards as per approved procedure or ADNOC
Standard.

Quality Assurance: Witness & Interpretate , phased array ultrasonic testing on various weld joints
to assess their integrity and identify defects. Ensure that testing procedures comply with approved
procedure and ADNOC specifications.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all inspection activities, including test results, reports,
and other relevant documentation. Ensure that all records are properly documented and stored
according to approved procedure and ADNOC's specification requirements.

Calibration: Regularly calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Maintain and document calibration records as per approved procedure and ADNOC's specification
requirements.

Reporting: Generate & review inspection reports summarizing findings, including the identification
of defects, their location, and severity. Report any anomalies or issues to the appropriate personnel
within L&T NDE Manager.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that PAUT equipment is properly maintained and in good working
condition. Schedule and conduct routine maintenance as necessary.

Compliance: Ensure that all inspection activities comply with ADNOC's standards, specification ,
approved procedure , regulations, and any relevant industry codes and standards.

Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with other members of the inspection
and shutdown team, as well as Contractors, Technician, NDE Manager and Project Managers to
provide updates on inspection progress and findings as needed.

Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during the inspection process, and work
with colleagues to find solutions to problems that may affect the shutdown schedule.

Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest PAUT techniques, equipment, and
industry best practices. Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance
skills and knowledge.

Quality Control: Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure that the
shutdown work is of the highest standard as well as ADNOC Specification.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all inspections and testing activities adhere to relevant
regulatory and environmental requirements.

Shutdown Support: Assist in planning and coordinating the inspection schedule within the context
of the shutdown project. Work closely with shutdown management to ensure that inspection
activities are integrated into the overall project plan.
