1. INTRODUCTION

This report presents the design checks of working platform for service crane and boring
rigs used by TPW Engineering Pte Ltd for LTA Contract J101 Phase 2 bored piling works
at Approach Structure zones.

2. MACHINARY DETAILS

Service Crane : SCX700

Track contact length: 5.090m, Track width: 0.76m
Self weight: 649kN, Max lift load: 156kN
Boring Rig : SR205
Track contact length: 4.2m, Track width: 0.7m
Self weight: 630kN, Max pull load: 185kN
Boring Rig : XR220D-II
Track contact length: 4.6m, Track width: 0.8m
Self weight: 723kN, Max pull load: 230kN
The catalogues of the SCX700, SR205 and XR220D-II are attached in Appendix A.

3. WORKING PLATFORM

The proposed working platform consists of minimum 500mm thick compacted hardcore
with one layer of 6mx1.5mx20mm steel plates (S275).

4. GROUND BEARING CAPACITY

Ground under transient machinery surcharge load can be considered as under Undrained
soil condition. The ground bearing capacity in undrain condition is derived from shear
failure diagram as shown below.
