2 WATER SUPPLY

2.2.1 CPVC Pipes and fittings

All pipes for water supply in wall chase shall be CPVC pipes manufactured as per
requirements of ASTM D-2846.

All fittings of water supply pipes shall be CPVC fittings suitable for CPVC pipes. All
fittings shall have manufacturer’s trade mark stamped on it. Fittings in CPVC pipelines
shall include elbows, tees, bends, reducers, nipples, union, bushes, CPVC Clamps of
approved design, CPVC flanges with 3 mm rubber insertion, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. All
fittings shall be tested at manufacturer’s works. Contractors may be required to produce
certificate to this effect from the manufacturers.

2.2.1.1 Laying and Jointing CPVC Pipes

(A) Jointing:- The pipes shall be jointed with solvent cement compound to ASTM-493
and shall be jointed as per printed manufacturers recommendations. Care shall be
taken that all pipes and fittings are properly jointed so as to make the joints
completely water tight and pipes are kept at all times free from dust and dirt during
fixing. Burr from the joints shall be removed after jointing. After laying, the ends of
the pipes shall be temporarily plugged to prevent access of water, soil or any other
foreign matter.

2.2.4 uPVC Pipes (For Irrigation Pipe)

All irrigation pipes system shall be uPVC pipes as per IS:4985-2000 of 6kgf/cm2
rating. These shall be cylindrical, straight and to standard dimensions.

uPVC pipes shall be jointed with solvent cement compound as per manufacturers
recommendations.

All tap off from main line shall be through (PP) saddles of different sizes.

4.8 Piping for Infinity pool

4.8.1 All pipes for infinity pool recirculation system both inside and outside pump
room shall be uPVC pipes as per IS:4985-2000 of rating as given in the BOQ. These
shall be cylindrical, straight and to standard dimensions.

4.8.2 uPVC pipes shall be jointed with solvent cement compound as per
manufacturers recommendations.

5.6 Interconnecting pipes and valves

5.6.1 All interconnecting pipes for water supply in heat pump system for domestic water
shall be CPVC pipes manufactured as per requirements of ASTM D-2846. All fittings
of water supply pipes shall be CPVC fittings suitable for CPVC pipes.

5.6.2 Jointing CPVC Pipes

The pipes shall be jointed with solvent cement compound to ASTM-493 and shall be
jointed as per printed manufacturer’s recommendations.
2.4 SOIL, WASTE AND VENT AND RAIN WATER PIPES AND FITTINGS.

2.4.1 uPVC Pipes and Fittings

All uPVC rain water pipes & fittings upto 160mm dia shall be SWR uPVC pipes (Type-B).
Pipes greater than 160mm dia shall be uPVC as per IS:4985-2000 of 6kg/cm2 rating.

All fittings shall be of the degree specified or as required at site.
