In addition to attracting the right clientele, the Reges Oceanfront Resort is deeply
committed to environmental health. By banning smoking on the beaches, the goal is to
reduce waste and better the overall health of the natural world. This step also aligns
with the effort and dedication to maintain Wildwood Crest's natural beauty.
Importantly, the ban also is put in place to improve public health. Secondhand smoke
exposure is a well known health hazard, and it is Reges responsibility to protect both
the guests and the community they live in. For example, in 2005, the California Air
Resources Board (ARB) released a report that evaluated the first-ever monitoring of the
level of outdoor exposure to secondhand smoke on the health of California residents.
Based on the conclusions of this report, the ARB adopted a regulatory amendment that
identified secondhand smoke as a toxic air contaminant - an outdoor air pollutant that
may cause or contribute to an increase in deaths or in serious illness, or which may
pose a present or potential hazard to human health.” Knowing this, the Reges
Oceanfront Resort believes that everyone should be able to enjoy the beach without
risking their health or discomfort which is also why smoking is now banned.
The Reges Oceanfront Resort recognizes the importance of using Governor Christie's
veto as a flier for the media to better spread our hotel's reputation among our target
audiences. The commitment to a smoke-free beach environment reflects our dedication
to quality, wellness, and community well-being.
