And Sew It Begins… 9 Community Service Lesson Description/Summary: Students will create a community service project by sewing zipper pouches that will be donated to the Haven House. Objective(s) Students will be able to operate the sewing machine properly. Students will be able to construct straight seams. Students will be able to demonstrate how to trim, grade, and clip seams. Students will demonstrate iron safety and sewing machine safety. Nebraska FCS Standard(s) HSE.HS.26.4 Demonstrate basic apparel construction and interior design skills.
