A function is a relation between a set of inputs (domain) and a set of possible outputs
(range) such that each input is related to exactly one output.
Graphing Functions:
Understand the Cartesian plane where points are plotted using an x-axis and a y-axis.
Plotting Points:
● Given an ordered pair
● (x,y)
● (x,y), locate the point on the Cartesian plane. The x-coordinate is the horizontal
position, and the y-coordinate is the vertical position.
Graphing Lines:
● Learn to graph linear equations in the form
● y=mx+b, where
● m is the slope and
● b is the y-intercept.
Domain and Range:
● The domain is the set of all possible x-values, and the range is the set of all
possible y-values.
Analyzing Functions:
Identifying Key Features:
● Learn to identify the slope, y-intercept, and x-intercept from the equation of a
line.
Vertical and Horizontal Lines:
● Understand how vertical lines have undefined slopes, and horizontal lines have
slopes of zero.
