Type of school where the teacher is teaching: Basista National High School

• According to Teacher Gallebo, classroom is innovative. It's not easy as children and
teachers are not familiar to google meet which they use as their educational
platform. During their class they have rules and netiquette to follow. Students must
raise their hands if they want to talk so they won't speak at once. Teacher Gallebo
emphasizes the word DISCIPLINE which is very important while having class so
delivery of the discussion will run smoothly "It's so hard to manageclassroom
How do I manage Classroom? because I cannot see and control my students. There are some who were lying on
their bed, not responding when I called their names, but there are students who
are active," says Teacher Gallebo. In that case she always remind students the rules
in class.
• Every Monday they conduct flag ceremony followed by praying, then exercise
(playing videos). In class discussion, when Teacher Carina asked question to avoid
speaking simultaneously, she let her students type their answer in the chat box.

• Of course there are students who don't have stable internet

connections. Sometimes they cannot attend the class. That's why
there are modules to answer by the students with the help of their
parents. Since they just meet once a week, teacher Gallebo always

Questions:

1. What classroom routines and procedures did you observe in remote learning and how could you apply it
to promote essential learning to minimize the gap experienced by the learner due to the pandemic?

I observed that every Monday they are having flag ceremony. Before the class starts, they are
having a short and sincere prayer. Every day they are having exercises to keep the children motivated to
attend the class, the teacher is playing videos so that the children can cope up easily with the steps. By
these routines, I can say that children will still find schooling fun even though they are conducting it
online.

2. Did the teacher remind the learners on the online etiquette? What responses were generated from
the learners?

Before the class starts, parents and students attended an orientation. They talked about the
rules and netiquettes for the class to be better. So yes, the teacher reminded her learners about the
dos and don’ts when they are having classes. For instance, the class is answering in chorus, the teacher
will say “Oh class, what did I say when you want to answer? Just click the raise hand button so that
we can understand each other properly,” and the children responded happily maybe because they
know that by these rules, they will improve not just their intellectual abilities but also their personal
development.

3. Is there a delightful & great effect to the learnears if the teacher creates a safe and conducive
learning environment during online class? Prove your answer by citing situations and evidence.

Yes. Students need to feel safe in order to learn. They need to feel secure in order to want
to participate. There are a number of things teachers can do to set up class that feel safe and well-
organized. When setting up any lesson that deals with potentially sensitive subjects, it’s essential to
begin by creating a safe and secure learning environment. This will help children feel confident to
share their ideas, values and attitudes without fear of negative feedback from their peers. A safe
learning environment with clear boundaries also helps teachers to manage discussions on sensitive
issues with greater confidence.

 · As a would be teacher, how can you make the environment safe and conducive to learners?

While students are learning at home, it’s important that they feel they still have a safe and
conducive environment.

Define Online Safety- It is important to define online safety for students so they can understand
what to avoid or report when doing online work for class. This knowledge gives students what they
need to build responsible online behaviors for the future.

Create Assignments and Activities About Online Safety- Create space in class to make up scenarios,
assignments, and activities that test students on what they know about online safety. This will allow
them to see the results and effects of dangerous online behavior.

Encourage Parental Involvement- For younger children or students who don’t normally have much
access to the internet, it’s wise to advise parents about what you’re trying to teach. Parents will be
able to reach and monitor their students at home in a way teachers aren’t able to. This way, both
parent and student learn about being a responsible digital citizen, and parents can help to answer
their children’s questions.

Providing Students with Resources- Sometimes, activities, games, or videos about being safe online
will hold students’ attention more than a lecture or reading assignment. Share with your students
websites and videos that they’ll find enjoyable and engaging.

Be Available to Talk- As always, communication is still a very important asset for students. Whether
by Zoom, email, or chat, have times that you are available for students to ask questions. It’s
important that students have an adult to talk to about any worries online. Being their support might
keep them out of a dangerous situation.

Install Monitoring Software on School-Issued Laptops- Finally, installing monitoring software on

school computers is the best way to ensure a safe learning environment during distance learning.
