I. Introduction
Educational tours serve as invaluable extensions of classroom
learning, offering students the opportunity to transcend textbooks
and engage with the real-world applications of their studies. This tour,
embarked upon by Saint Michael College of Caraga , is a journey
designed to enrich the academic experience of students by providing
firsthand exposure to diverse subjects. In the following pages, we will
explore the significance of educational tours in the broader
educational context, shedding light on the profound impact they have
on students' holistic development.
Our educational tour in Cebu and Bohol provided a rich and
immersive experience in the realm of Hospitality Management.
Spanning three days, the tour encompassed a diverse array of
activities, from seminars on "Food and Beverage" and "Front Office"
at MiCHA to exploring cultural and natural wonders in Sto. Nino
Church, Fort San Pedro, Chocolate Hills, and more.
The significance of this tour in an educational context lies in its ability
to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. It served as
a gateway to comprehend the intricacies of the hospitality industry,
offering real-world insights into the subjects of Food and Beverage
management and Front Office operations.
This tour served as a pivotal bridge between theoretical learning and
practical application. By immersing ourselves in real-world scenarios,
we gained valuable insights into the intricacies of hospitality, enabling
a holistic understanding crucial for our academic and professional
growth.
This journey not only immersed us in the practical facets of the
hospitality industry but also exposed us to the cultural and
environmental dimensions, reinforcing the interdisciplinary nature of
our education.

II. Objectives
The primary objective of our educational tour was to bridge the gap
between classroom theories and real-world applications in the field of
Hospitality Management. I aimed to gain practical insights into the
intricacies of Food and Beverage operations, Front Office
management, and the broader spectrum of hospitality services. The
tour sought to deepen my understanding of industry practices,
fostering a more comprehensive and practical approach to my
academic knowledge.
This tour was intricately connected to my course Bachelor of Science
in Hospitality Management. By immersing myself in various facets of
the hospitality industry, from seminars at MiCHA to exploring cultural
landmarks and engaging with eco-adventure tourism in Bohol, I aimed
to contextualize and apply my academic learning. The experiences
and observations gathered during the tour were intended to
complement and enhance my coursework, providing real-world
examples and challenges that align with the dynamic nature of the
hospitality sector. As future professionals in the field, this tour aimed
to equip us with a multifaceted perspective and practical skills crucial
for success in the industry.

III. Daily Logs
Day 1: Cebu
1. Activities:
-MiCHA Seminar - Food and Beverage, Front Office
*Engaged in informative seminars, gaining insights into Food and
Beverage management and Front Office operations.
- Cebu Heritage and Cultural Tour - Sto. Nino Church, Fort San
Pedro
*Explored cultural landmarks, delving into the historical
significance of Sto. Nino Church and Fort San Pedro.
- Dinner at Vikings (SM City) and Check-in at Big Hotel
*Enjoyed a delightful dinner at Vikings, experiencing diverse
culinary offerings. Checked in at Big Hotel for a comfortable stay.
2. Observations:
-Noted the practical applications discussed during the seminar,
fostering a deeper understanding of industry practices.
-Immersed in Cebu's rich heritage, appreciated the architectural
nuances and cultural importance of the sites visited.
-Vikings provided a diverse culinary experience, and Big Hotel
offered a welcoming atmosphere for our accommodation.

Day 2: Bohol
1. Activities:
-Eco and Adventure Tourism
*Explored the iconic Chocolate Hills, experienced a close
encounter with the endangered Tarsier.
-Visiting Man-Made Forest, Loboc River Floating Resto, Sikatuna's
Mirror of the World, Baclayon Church
*Drove through the enchanting man-made forest, enjoyed a buffet
lunch at Loboc River Floating Resto, explored Sikatuna's Mirror of
the World, and visited Baclayon Church.
2. Observation :
-Witnessed the unique natural wonders of Bohol and learned about
conservation efforts for endangered species.
-Admired the ecological diversity of the man-made forest, savored
local cuisine at Loboc River, and immersed in the cultural and
environmental richness of Sikatuna's Mirror of the World and
Baclayon Church.
-Marvelled at natural wonders, appreciated cultural and
environmental conservation efforts.

Day 3: Cebu
1. Activities:
-Check-out at Big Hotel, Visit Simala
*Checked out from Big Hotel and visited Simala for a cultural and
spiritual experience.
-Lunch Buffet at Tongs Seafood House, Seminar at Waterfront Hotel
*Enjoyed a buffet lunch at Tongs Seafood House and attended an
insightful seminar at Waterfront Hotel.
2. Observation:
-Explored the religious significance of Simala, reflecting on the
cultural aspects of the destination.
-Appreciated the culinary offerings at Tongs Seafood House and
gained industry insights during the seminar at Waterfront Hotel.

IV. Reflections
Embarking on this educational tour has been a transformative journey,
weaving together a tapestry of experiences that goes beyond the mere
exploration of physical spaces. It has been a voyage of self-discovery,
cultural immersion, and intellectual growth. The diverse activities,
ranging from insightful seminars to cultural explorations and encounters
with eco-adventure tourism, have left an indelible mark on my
perspective.
This educational tour has transcended the boundaries of a traditional
learning experience. It has become a pivotal chapter in my academic
journey, imprinting lasting memories and imparting lessons that extend
far beyond the classroom. I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities
it has presented and the profound impact it has had on my
understanding of the subject matter.
As the day concluded, I found myself reflecting on the enriching
experiences and newfound knowledge. This educational tour has not
only complemented my academic learning but has also created lasting

Conversations Adding Value to the Experience
Engaging with industry professionals during the MiCHA seminar
provided invaluable insights. Conversations centered on emerging
trends, challenges, and practical tips in Food and Beverage and Front
Office management.
Interacting with local guides and historians during the cultural tour
enhanced our understanding of Cebu's heritage.
Conversations with local environmentalists and guides in Bohol
provided a nuanced perspective on sustainable tourism.
Interacting with professionals at Waterfront Hotel during the seminar
offered valuable insights into the operational aspects of a luxury hotel.
Personal Observation and Memorable moments:
The breathtaking landscape of the Chocolate Hills left an indelible mark,
emphasizing the wonders of nature and the need for responsible
tourism.
The close encounter with the endangered Tarsier was a poignant
reminder of the importance of conservation efforts and the impact of
tourism on delicate ecosystems.
Exploring the cultural richness of Simala provided a unique blend of
spirituality and traditional practices, offering a memorable cultural
experience.
The buffet lunch at Loboc River Floating Resto, surrounded by lush
scenery, combined gastronomic delight with appreciation for
sustainable tourism practices.

The educational tour through Cebu and Bohol has left an indelible mark,
creating a tapestry of experiences that seamlessly wove theoretical
knowledge with practical insights. The journey was a dynamic blend of
seminars, cultural explorations, and encounters with eco-adventure
tourism, providing a holistic view of the hospitality industry.
The knowledge acquired during this tour will serve as a solid foundation
