Purpose:
To provide a list of external parts that should accompany Taurus 70 engines returned to Solar’s
overhaul facilities.
NOTE
Information contained in this service bulletin only pertains to
Taurus 70 engines. Refer to your maintenance manual and/or
appropriate service bulletin for other engines.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
When an engine is returned to a Solar’s overhaul facility, some external engine components must
be evaluated and then reconditioned or replaced, as appropriate. Failure to return these parts with
the engine to the overhaul center may result in delays and an increase in cost to the end user.
Information regarding what to return can be found in your maintenance manual and here in the
Action Required section.
NOTE
If the clutch is also being replaced, all clutch components
mounted on the gear box and on the starter must be returned.
Additional External Parts to be Returned When the Power Turbine (PT) is Included
with the Gas Producer (GP) Turbine
• Power turbine lateral guide (plate that bolts to the underside of the power turbine to
interface with the engine support)
• All PT-related magnetic speed pickups and RTDs

A typical T10301S engine is shown in Figure 1 for reference and specific items to be returned with
the engine are identified. The variable vane cover frame must be removed to install the forward
portion of the engine lift tool, but should be returned with the engine. The bleed valve solenoid
can be disassembled from the actuator by removing the three Allen head cap screws on the face
of the solenoid.
A typical T10302S engine is shown in Figure 2 for reference and specific items to be returned with
the engine are identified. The variable vane cover frame must be removed to install the forward
