RECORDS RETENTION

1.1. The Quality Control Manager collects all records described in this Manual upon
completion of the job, and reviews them for completeness, correctness and Code
compliance before he prepares the Manufacturer’s Data Report.
1.2. Manufacturer’s Data Reports, after certification by the Quality Control Manager
are presented to the AI for his review and acceptance.
1.3. All records are retained for the period indicated in Table 1.
1.4. National Board serial numbers, for each Code item to be registered, are controlled
and are issued consecutively from 1 by the Quality Control Manager, who
maintains a Log of NB Serial Numbers (Exhibit No. 12-01) which includes details
of each number with date issued, date sent to the National Board, Code item,
name and location of purchaser, and manufacturer’s serial number. National
Board Numbers are issued, following the final inspection, or pressure test without
skips or gaps of unused number or duplication of numbers.
1.5. The Quality Control Manager sends one original of Manufacturer’s Data Report
with attached Partial Data Reports to the National Board of Boiler and Pressure
Vessel Inspectors for each Code stamped item to be registered within 30 days
from the date of certification.
1.6. Copies of the Manufacturer’s Data Report are furnisheded to:
a) The user or his designated agent.
b) The Inspector.
c) The appropriate enforcement authority in the jurisdiction in which the vessel
is to be installed, where required by law.
d) One copy shall be retained on file for the period specified in Table 1.
12.6.1 In addition the above, the vessel may be registered and the Data Report
filed with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel inspectors.
12.6.2 In case of parts, MPDRs shall be furnished to the manufacture of the
completed vessel (customer) in duplicate and a copy provides to the
inspector on request. A copy of MPDR shall be retained as per table 1.
12.6.3 Boilers piping data reports are provided to main boiler manufactureer or
engineering contractor responsible for boiler. Copy is provided to AI upon
request and a copy retained on file for 5 years.
