Assessment Once the assessment has been completed, the student will be given
outcomes the result within 14 days. Once the student has satisfactorily
completed the required assessments for a unit of competency he/she
will receive an outcome of C (Competent) or otherwise NYC (Not Yet
Competent) in which case the student is entitled to apply for a
resubmission of the assessment.
Reasonable According to AIBL’s policy, assessment processes and techniques
adjustments should consider the language, literacy and numeracy capacity of the
student in relation to the competency being assessed.

If you are unable to complete the assessment in this format, you must
inform your assessor and they may arrange for you to take the

needs to be completed in order to demonstrate competence.
t re-
submission Re-assessment for assessments only occurs if the student has
previously submitted the assessment or has missed the relevant
session(s) and has been afforded special consideration that is
approved by the Administration department.

If the result for the first submission of an assessment is NYC, students

will be given two re-submission opportunities to achieve a competent
result (this re-assessment is conducted free of charge). A suitable time
will be arranged for the reassessment to occur within 14 days of the
completion of the unit in question. Should a student either not make an
attempt within this time frame (in spite of all efforts by Albright
Institute, its Trainer/Assessor and administration staff to have the
student attend a reassessment session) or the student does not
achieve a satisfactory result after two re-assessments they may be
charged for another attempt.

Should the student still not achieve competence after these

assessment attempts, it will be necessary for them to re-enrol in
(repeat) the unit of competence at a cost.

• 1. What are some benefits of CAD?
Some of the benefits of CAD are:
1. It allows designer a creation with more accurate design
representation as compared to the manual drawing.
2. It allows the development of design drafting and systematic
alteration with enhanced optimization.
3. CAD brings a precise design that can be manipulated virtually
without wasting paper and pencils.
4. It increases the productivity and saves the times as the product
development demands the time consumption to bring new ideas.
5. Spatial reasoning of a designer also develops with creative
thinking skills.
6. Multi tasking projects can be handled effectively with CAD
software.
7. Construction, architecture and engineering sectors involves
complex project phases typically in designing of the parts drawing,
this is mitigated by CAD softwares.
8. Some typical benefits of CAD are:
Decrease in errors
Quality enhancement
Ease of Understanding
Collaborating with peers by quick sharing
Gate way to Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
Improves drawing skills
Automated specification checking
Design and Application flexibility
9. CAD brings lower production costs, work fasters, and smarter to
fasten the completion of projects leading customer or client
satisfaction.
10. CAD allows the design to reproduce in fraction of seconds.

Explain your answer:

Three workspaces are available in AutoCAD viz., drafting and
annotations, 3D basics
and 3D modelling.
Workspaces are the set of Menu, Toolbar, Palettes, and ribbon control
panel, that are in a grouped or organized way to work in customed and
systematic orientation.
Only Menu, Toolbar, and Pallete which are relevant to the task bar will be
displayed while using a workspace.
Drafting and Annotations: It permits the designer for the
communications of the design intent.
3D Basics: It creates 2D and 3D drawings from drawing and editing tools
also organizes drawing objects on layers, adds text and basic
dimensions, for the plot.
3D Modelling: Using a unique software like AutoCAD for creating a 3D
mathematical representation of any surface of an object is 3D Modelling.

• 3. How would you draw a Circle by Centre and Radius or Diameter

Drawing a Circel by Centre Point and radius or diameter
1. Click on Circle tool, in the Ribbon Panel to start the Circle
Command
2. Define the Centre Point of the circle by typing the desired point
co-ordinates like 11, 5 etc., (Also clicking on a point to specify the
centre point works well).
3. Now the centre point has been set, then The option of Diameter
will appear in the command line.
4. Press D then Enter to choose the Diameter option, and gives the
required diameter of the circle like 10 and Enter.
5. Press Enter to repeat the circle command.
6. Type the required centre point.
7. The radius of the last circle will appear in the Command Line
inside the brackets. Press Enter to choose the last circle radius.
Or Press R to gives new radius.

(a) Osnap
(b) Ortho
(c) Linear
(d) Polar tracking

Explain your answer:

Ortho mode allows the user to draw 90o straight lines either horizontally
or vertically
Explanation:
Ortho is an AutoCAD setting, by turning it ON only vertical or horizontal
drawings can be drawn. If Ortho is turned OFF any direction lines can be
drawn.
Ortho can be ON or OFF by clicking the ORTHO icon at the bottom of the
window or by typing the ORTHO command.

When there is a need to draw a line more than one time and save it
automatically, AutoCAD will open a new file in a new session to write the
lines.
AutoCAD saves multiple drawings in each sessions which further used to
create the application.
The files can be saved with the extension .dwg and modified by the
browser.
The extension requires to be not visible and to shown as allowing the
selection of the options in advanced also.
By checking the AutoCAD the file modification will take place and opens
the drawing.
Hence line can be drawn multiple times.

9. What is the process of copying the dimension styles from

1. Required dimension styles drawing should be opened first.
2. Select a dimension object that uses the dimension styles. If
necessary make avails a dimension or insert it into it.
3. Press Cntrl + C or Home Tab > Clipboard panel > Copy.
4. Now Switching to the drawing that required to import the

11. How you can hide the specific layers when plotting in

AutoCAD?
Hiding the specific layers when plotting in AutoCAD:
1. In a CAD drawing first do Right-click
2. Point to CAD drawing object.
3. Click Properties
4. Click the layer tab
5. Select the layer
6. Click the visible field
Then the specific layer will be hide from plotting

•12. What are grips?

Grips are the points. When an object is selected they appear as blue
colour, representing the points of the figure.
For a circle grips are: 1 point in centre and 4 points at each quadrant.
When a single object is selected, program will change the colour of the
points which are grips, and adding a square to the default reference
point of the object.
For many objects, stretching a point but moving all the objects will
highlight the grip points.
It applies to rotate, scale and mirror options.
Different grips points will be there for different objects.
For a line: 3 grip points. 2 End point, 1 Midpoint
For a circle: 5 grip points. 1 centre and 4 at each quadrant
For a square and rectancle: 4 grip points: 4 at each corners
All object in CAD have atleast one grip point.
Application of grips:
An object can be modified by using grips
