Voracious shoguars hunt on dry land and beneath the waves with equally deadly skill. Long
and many-legged, with a thick carapace, shoguars can shrug off most punishment even as
they stun prey by generating concussive waves of shock that travel through air or water.
Shoguars also produce an identifiable clicking, whistling noise that sounds somewhat
pleasant to those who don’t recognize its source. The sound arises regardless of the
shoguar’s intentions, which makes it difficult for the creature to sneak up on prey familiar
with it. The noise is produced from a translucent cavity on the shoguar’s back that contains
small fishlike creatures, which apparently live independently within the shoguar’s larger form.
