Activity 1
The T checks homework and elicits ways of expressing obligation, permission, necessity,
prohibition, advice, etc
The Ss practice the use of some modal verbs by solving some exercises on their
worksheets- fill in, unscramble the sentences to complete some dialogues, complete some
sentences referring to their own experiences.
Activity 2
Pre-reading
The students recycle vocabulary connected to TV programmes and give examples for each
one.
While -reading
Then they read some short extracts and identify the type of TV programme on each
chanel.
The T elicits the meaning of some words. The Ss try to guess the meaning from the
context.
Argument, doubts, host, contestant,guest
Post- reading
The SS answer some comprehension questions, Then they match some comments on
twitter to the corresponding show.

Follow up- speaking


The Ss choose one of the programmes to watch tonight and tell the others why they chose
it.

Homework: Write your own Twitter comment about the TV programme you chose
Ex 2 page 31.
