Program Title: Z-RUN: The Zamboanguita Halloween Run 2022
Program Description: This is a 2-day capability building on events
management through a Halloween themed fun run
and fund-raising activity initiated by Zamboanguita
District 1 Federated Supreme Student Government
in cooperation with the local government unit of
Zamboanguita, which shall focus on developing
students’ skills on events management, leadership
and creativity.

II. Rationale

In the 1987 Constitution Article II Section 13, “The state recognizes the vital role
of the youth in nation building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral
spiritual intellectual; and social well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism and
nationalism, and encourage their involvement in public and civic affairs.”

Enclosure No. 1 of DepEd ORDER No. 47, s. 2014 entitled “The Constitution and
By-Laws of the SPG and SSG in Elementary and Secondary Schools” provides Section
6.5 and 6.6 of Article III on the Declaration of Principles, Objectives and Policies which
states that two of the Objectives of the SPG/SSG are “to develop self-confidence,
critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and learning among the student
body and to utilize these skills in contributing towards nation-building; and to empower
the students to strive for excellence in academics, leadership, and social responsibility,
to encourage them to be proactive members of the society.”

In support to these mandates, an advocacy was initiated by the Zamboanguita


District I Federated Supreme Student Government which aimed to empower Filipino
youths to become value-driven citizens by conducting various Student Government
activities in the district. Thus, an events management and fund-raising activity through a
Halloween themed fun run entitled “Z-Run: The Zamboanguita Halloween Run 2022”
was conceptualized.

In partnership with the local government unit of Zamboanguita through the


Sangguniang Kabataan, this activity will allow the student leaders of the district to
proactively respond to the current challenges brought by the pandemic through a
dynamic, innovative, and purpose-driven activities.

Objectives
At the end of this activity, the participants are expected to:
 gain knowledge on the core competencies and concepts of events management;
 conduct an events management activity through a Halloween-themed fun run;
and
 share one’s leadership and creativity skills by spearheading an event to raise
funds for future student government programs, projects, and activities of the
district.

Expected Final Outcome/Success Indicator:

1. Student leaders were equipped with the core competencies and concepts of
events management.
2. Student leaders were able to conduct the Z-Run successfully through their
leadership and creativity.
3. The Federated SSG were able to raise funds for future student government
programs, projects, and activities.
4. Partnership with the LGU and other NGOs were strengthened.
5. The participants of the Z-Run were satisfied on the outcome of the event.
