OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Students will discuss the primary functions of
each sense organ, such as vision for detecting
light and color, hearing for detecting sound, smell
for detecting odors, taste for identifying flavors,
and touch for feeling pressure, temperature, and
pain.
B. Performance Standard Students will accurately identify and describe the
structure and basic functions of the five major
human sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue,
and skin).
C. Learning Competency Discuss the significance of sense organs in
everyday life and how they help humans interact
with and understand their environment.

III. LEARNING ACTVITIES
Engage
1. Drill Write the five senses on the board and ask
students to share their thoughts on the
importance of each sense in their daily lives.
2. Review Show picture or object of five main sense organs.
Let them student tell what is in the pictures.
B. Explore
1. Motivation "Sense Detective" game where kids must identify
objects or foods blindfolded can be both fun and
educational.
2. Presentation Show images and diagrams of the five major
sense organs (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin).
And location
3. Pre-Activity
Divide the class into 5 groups. Let them assign the
leader and represent the group. Engage the class
in a quick sense-related game or activity, such as
a "Sense Hunt" where they find objects related to
each sense. They will be given time to answer,
and each correct answer corresponds to a score.
The group with the fastest and has the most
correct answers is the winner.
4. Activity Proper Start by discussing the sense of smell and its
importance in our daily lives. Explain that the
sense of smell is responsible for detecting and
identifying various odors.
Fill the containers with different scented items.
You can choose a variety of scents, such as
cinnamon, lemon, mint, or lavender. Seal the
containers to ensure the scents are contained.
And ask them to describe what they smell and
see if they can identify the scents. Have them
record their guesses on a piece of paper.
C. Explain
1. Group Reporting After doing the performance activity, ask a
volunteer reporter in one group to share the
thoughts and what they learned from the
performance activity we did.
2. Discussion Ask the students if they understand our topic and
ask the other groups what they learn about it.
And discuss about sense of organs again.
D. Elaborate
1. Generalization Our sense organs, including the eyes, ears, nose,
tongue, and skin, play essential roles in perceiving
and interacting with the world around us.
Understanding how each sense organ functions
and the significance of maintaining their health is
crucial for enhancing our daily experiences and
quality of life.
2. Application On a sheet of paper, list the five human senses
and provide an example for each sense, indicating
what they are capable of perceiving.
E. Evaluate 1. Which sense organ is primarily
responsible for detecting light and color?

a) Ears b) Nose c) Eyes d) Skin

2. The sense organ responsible for detecting

sound is:

a) Tongue b) Nose c) Ears d) Skin

3. Which sense organ is responsible for
detecting and identifying different odors?

a) Eyes b) Tongue c) Nose d) Skin

4. Taste buds on the tongue are responsible

for detecting which of the following taste
sensations?

a) Sweet, sour, and bitter

b) b) Salty, spicy, and umami
c) c) Salty, sweet, and sour
d) d) Sweet, bitter, and umami

5. The sense of touch is primarily associated

with which sense organ?

a) Ears
b) Nose
c) Tongue
d) Skin
